New York Yankees Pitcher Gerrit Cole Welcomes First Baby with Wife Amy – Meet His Son Caden Gerrit

Last Tuesday, Gerrit Cole, 29, welcomed a baby boy named Caden Gerrit Cole. The newborn is the New York Yankees pitcher’s first child with his wife, Amy Cole.

Last week, little Caden was born weighing 7 pounds and 13 ounces. Amy, the sister of San Francisco shortstop Brandon Crawford, and the baby are doing well.

The Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher described his son as “a good mix of his dad and his mom.” He noted how adorable the blue-eyed bundle of joy was and he confessed:

“I just can’t stop staring at him.”

ANNOUNCING THE PREGNANCY

Gerrit and his wife announced in January 2020, on New Year’s Day that they were expecting. They made the announcement by sharing a photo of themselves on Instagram holding a pair of baby shoes.

Amy Cole’s got a good hand.

The second image showed the expectant couple holding an onesie that read: "Baby Cole Coming Soon." In the caption of the post, the professional athlete revealed:

"Can't wait to meet our son in June."

GETTING MARRIED

In November 2016, the New York Yankees player and Amy made their relationship official when they got married at a Santa Barbara resort. The pair was college lovers who met when they played for the UCLA baseball and softball, respectively.

PLAYING SOFTBALL IN COLLEGE

Amy was also a pitcher for her team. In 2010, she helped the Bruins win the Women's College World Series and has assisted her husband with training and keeping fit recently.

PLAYING BASEBALL WITH GERRIT

In March 2020, the pair were filmed as they tossed around a baseball. Amy was still pregnant at the time but she easily showed off her baseball and throwing skills in the clip.

CELEBRATING THEIR ANNIVERSARY

Last November couple proved they were still in love when they celebrated their wedding anniversary. The duo posted images and heartfelt messages on their respective Instagram accounts.

AMY’S BABY SHOWER

In March 2020, Amy hosted a baby shower to celebrate the upcoming birth. Taking to Instagram, the athlete’s wife shared an image of her baby bump at the Secret Garden-themed baby shower.

Amy wore a floral-print dress for the event.
