On Monday, baseball legend Mariano Rivera showcased a major catch he made while fishing on the ocean. The rare outside scene was a change of pace from his sports-focused Instagram feed.

RIVERA MAKES A BIG CATCH ON THE OCEAN

In the photo, Rivera stood on a white boat which appeared to be stagnant over the water. He wore a dark long-sleeve shirt and long pants. The shirt featured a lifeboat stamp on the chest area.

In front of him was a giant tuna fish. In the caption, Rivera revealed that the animal weighed about 150 pounds. The sportsman's open-mouthed grin reflected his excitement.

Rivera's legacy lies in his all-time saves number, which stands at 652 — the most ever recorded in the sport. Last July, he was inducted in the Baseball Hall of Fame for his many achievements.

The 50-year-old received the first unanimous vote for the Hall of Fame title at Cooperstown, adding to his accolades. Ahead of the ceremony, Rivera spoke to the media about the honor.

"I'm just happy and humbled that I'm one of the boys," he said. He admitted that he was unsure about how to react and what to expect. He saw the induction as a blessing but not a life-changing event.

GETTING HIS NAME OF AN AIRPLANE

Raised in Panama, Rivera's career took off in the mid-90s when he entered the big leagues. He noted that, even then, he could never have foreseen five World Series in his future.

Delta also paid tribute to the sportsman. They presented him with a plaque as well as a sticker on a Delta plane. "It's not every day that you have a gate dedicated to you. I'm humble and happy for that," he said.

RIVERA FACES ALLEGATIONS IN PANAMA

The leader in saves is not free from life's drama, though. In February 2019, he dismissed allegations that he didn't pay child support for two children in Panama after having extramarital affairs.

Rivera described the claims as "unfounded." However, the lawyer of the children's mother said Rivera was simply speaking out to preserve his media image.

HONORED AT THE WHITE HOUSE

In addition to becoming a Hall of Famer, Rivera was further honored by the President of the United States, Donald Trump, last September. His wife, Melania, attended the event looking stunning in a Dior pantsuit.

Rivera received the Medal of Freedom award in the East Wing of the White House. Melania later shared photos from the event which saw Rivera's family in attendance.
