In an initial tweet by the Ventura County Sheriff Office, it was revealed that authorities were in search of an unidentified possible drowning victim.

However, after confirming the missing person's identity as Rivera, an updated tweet was sent out, and it read,

"The missing person at Lake Puru has been identified as Naya Rivera, 33, of Los Angeles."

Rivera was declared missing on Wednesday after her four-year-old son, Josey, was found alone on a rented pontoon boat on Lake Piru. According to the Ventura County Sheriff, Eric Buschow Rivera had rented the boat with her son, and both were seen going out on the lake together.

About three hours after departing from the dock, another boater, however, discovered Josey asleep on the boat alone and alarmed authorities. On getting the report, they began searching for Rivera from the air, while also sending out a dive team.

Buschow also revealed that Josey confirmed that he and his mother had gone swimming, but after he was back on the boat, his mother never made it back.

While Josey had on a life vest, it is believed that Rivera was not putting on one after an adult life vest was discovered on the boat.

Rivera is most famous for her role on the Fox musical series "Glee," where she acted as "Santana Lopez." She also made appearances in "The Royal Family" as well "The Master of Disguise."

Rivers was formerly married to actor, Ryan Dorsey with whom she welcomed her son, Josey Hollis Dorsey.
