Here Is What Jim Carrey Had to Say about Ex-fianceé Renée Zellweger in a Recent Interview
Jim Carrey is one of this generation’s most famous actors. The actor and comedian has made a name for himself by thrilling audiences for decades, whether on stage or behind the screen.
In a recent interview, however, Carrey got candid about his life and some of his past relationships. While speaking on an episode of “The Howard Stern Show” on SiriusXM, the actor opened up about one of his previous partners, Renee Zellweger.

The interview was part of Carrey’s promotion of his autobiography, titled “Memoirs and Misinformation.” The book details his life and experiences, including some interesting tidbits about a few of his partners — including Zellweger.
The couple had even been engaged briefly, giving much hope for a Hollywood power couple.
Carrey and Zellweger dated decades back. The couple met while working on “Me, Myself, and Irene,” a 1999 movie that they both starred in. Shortly after they wrapped up filming, they made the relationship public.

Despite the breakup, Carrey had nothing but praise for the actress. In the interview, he explained:
“She was special to me, very special. I think she’s lovely…I do appreciate the people that have come through my life for the good that they gave me.”
The actor added that even though they didn’t end up together, he didn’t have any regrets. As he put it, these things happen.
However, he also pointed out that the relationship held something special for him. Even though they went their separate ways, the relationship was important to him.
Many had believed that Carrey and Zellweger’s relationship would last. At the time, it was one of those relationships that looked like the perfect match.
The couple had even been engaged briefly, giving much hope for a Hollywood power couple. However, they eventually called time on their relationship a year later — much to the dismay of fans rooting for them.
Carrey had been in previous relationships earlier. He was married to two women — Melissa Womer, between 1987 and 1995, and Lauren Holly, between 1996 and 1997.
While the hopes for his relationship with Zellweger were high, it wasn’t meant to be at the end of the run. So far, they’ve both moved on to other relationships.
Carrey dated actress Jenny McCarthy in 2005, although they broke off their relationship five years later. Then, in 2012, he met stylist Cathriona White.

Carrey and White dated on and off for three years. In 2015, many believed that they had rekindled their romance. Sadly, she died that year after an apparent suicide.
As for Zellweger, she married country music star Kenny Chesney in 2005 but got a divorce months later. She has also dated several other men, including actor Bradley Cooper and singer and songwriter Doyle Bramhall II.
