Mel Gibson Was Hospitalized for COVID-19 – Inside His Private Treatment
Mel Gibson, “The Passion of the Christ,” actor is one of the celebrities who’ve been diagnosed with the novel coronavirus disease. He even had to spend some time in hospital receiving treatment to fight off the illness.
Gibson’s representative has confirmed that the star was positively diagnosed with COVID-19. He had to spend a week in a hospital for treatment after his diagnosis.
The actor actually got his diagnosis in April 2020 but he’s since managed to make a full recovery. According to his representative, the star “was treated with the drug Remdesivir” during his hospital stay.

US BOUGHT MOST OF THE DRUG
The antiviral medication was bought by the US. The country actually acquired almost all of the world's stocks in June 2020.
Remdesivir is a broad-spectrum drug that has shown positive results in the treatment of the virus. The US bought about 90% of Gilead Sciences’ stock of the drug.
GIBSON IS NEGATIVE NOW
Ever since he’s tested negative on several occasions but “positive for the antibodies." Gibson, 64, was treated at a Los Angeles, California hospital, according to “The Daily Telegraph.”
The Australian star chose to keep his health battle private. He tested positive just weeks after Tom Hanks and his actress wife Rita Wilson revealed their own diagnosis.
GOING OUT WITH GIRLFRIEND
Before testing positive, Gibson was seen in March 2020 at a grocery store in California. At the time he was with his girlfriend Rosalind Ross, 30.
HIS CHILD WITH ROSS
In 2014, the pair began dating before they welcomed their first child together three years later. Lars Gerard is the actor’s ninth child and the first one for Ross.
MOST RECENT SIGHTING
The most recent sighting of the couple was on July 12, 2020. Gibson was seen strolling around Malibu while wearing a face mask below his nose.
