50 AND FIT

Shields is already in her early 50s and feeling great as she shifted much of her attention to physical fitness and health.

Shields began meditating simultaneously with the quarantine and started encouraging others to use physical movements to ease the lockdown feel.

“People my age can get crossed off at a certain point -- like you’ve had a good run, you’ve had your kids, you’ve had your career, you’re done. We can really inspire each other right now to do something within our power to feel better,” she said.

Shields' workouts consist of intense leg day and full-body exercises with the use of ankle weights and exercise balls.

Although she has her own home gym, the actress also incorporates no-equipment routines and bodyweight exercises.

HARD AT WORK

Shields admitted that she was never blessed with a slim figure and had to earn it independently. She had a muscular build and decided to use it to work out.

Initially, exercising was not an activity she enjoyed, seeing it only as a means to become healthy. However, quarantine changed her outlook on working out.
