Hello!: How Orlando Bloom's Son Flynn Reacted to the Upcoming Arrival of Baby Sister as Katy Perry Nears Her Due Date
Orlando Bloom is going to be a first-time father to a baby girl soon. As for his son, Flynn, the actor shared how the young boy reacted to news of his coming sibling.
Orlando Bloom, 43, is about to welcome a baby girl with fiancée Katy Perry. It will be the couple's first child together, but Orlando's second. He has a son, Flynn, with ex-wife Miranda Kerr.
In a new interview with Hello magazine, Bloom let fans know how his nine-year-old son reacted to the announcement that he would be getting a sister.
BLOOM REVEALS SON FLYNN IS THRILLED ABOUT NEW SIBLING
Bloom said: "Flynn couldn't be more excited to be getting a little sister — he's already got two brothers from Miranda. So although the circumstances are definitely unusual, this is a wonderful time for us."
Bloom and Perry are hoping to welcome their newest addition sometime this month. They may be doing a home birth like Perry's sister did, but also have a hospital picked out depending on what they decide.
PERRY ADMIRES THE WAY HER FIANCE IS A FATHER TO HIS SON
Flynn was with the couple during the early stages after the coronavirus pandemic hit the country. Perry recently did an interview with Hello and delved into her and Flynn's dynamic and her pregnancy. She said:
"It was planned. We went to Egypt in October for my birthday and just decided. I've always been so fond of the way he [Bloom] is with Flynn that I think my primal nature is like, 'Yes, go.' "
SHE ALREADY KNOWS WHAT TYPE OF MOM SHE'LL BE
Perry further expressed how much she is ready to become a mom. She reflected on her past difficulties with her emotional and mental health and added that she has heard having a child is the best gift.
Perry already knows what type of mom she will be to her daughter. In an interview with People, she deemed herself the "cool mom" from the 2004 teen comedy, "Mean Girls." The cool mom was Regina George's mother.
However, she noted that she would be more of a disciplinarian than her future husband, Bloom. She joked that maybe things would switch up when her child becomes a teenager.

PERRY OPENS UP ABOUT HER AND BLOOM'S 2017 SPLIT
Perry and Bloom's exciting times come after the pair's downtime a few years ago. Perry talked with People last week about the time they spent apart in 2017. They started dating in 2016.
She explained that she and Bloom needed to find their individual "wholeness" to make things work. Perry's new album, "Smile," includes a song called "Champagne Problems," showing how their relationship has evolved.
The singer continues to promote her album even though she is about to deliver. She hosts a weekly Instagram live show for fans in lieu of the album's release, which was pushed back due to the crisis. It comes out on August 28.
