Pau Gasol Shares Sweet Picture of Pregnant Wife Catherine with Kobe Bryant's Family While on Vacation
Basketball player Pau Gasol recently took to social media to share a lovely image of his wife with Kobe Bryant’s widow and children. The throwback image was taken during much happier times.
Kobe Bryant’s ex-teammate, Pau Gasol, 40, shared an old image of his wife, his sister, and the late star’s widow, Vanessa Bryant. The late former Los Angeles Lakers player’s two children also featured in the photo.
Gasol captioned the post writing: “My wife, my future baby, my sister and my nieces.” When the athlete wrote “my future baby,” he was referring to the child his wife, Cat McDonnell, was carrying.

GASOL EXPECTING FIRST CHILD
The couple is expecting their first child together and recently celebrated their first wedding anniversary. McDonnell and Gasol were married in July 2019.
In the photo, the Bryants and McDonnell were on vacation in San Francisco. The basketball player also noted how the image featured so much beauty.
KOBE’S DEATH
In January 2020, Kobe and his daughter, Gianna, 13, passed away in a helicopter crash. The former NBA player left behind daughters Natalia, 17, Bianka, 4, and Capri, 1.
Gasol and his wife have kept their close friendship, with Kobe’s wife and children, going after his death. He and the late star used to consider each other as brothers.
CELEBRATING KOBE’S BIRTHDAY
On what would have been Kobe’s 42nd birthday, Gasol was one of the people who paid tribute to him on social media. The basketball player shared a touching image that featured himself with Kobe.
He noted in the caption how much he wished the late athlete was still around. Gasol also confessed that he missed Kobe and Gianna very much.
MOURNING BRYANT
After his friend’s death, Gasol was featured in an interview where he revealed how he was coping with Kobe’s passing. In a video, he reflected on his time with his friend and brother.
DEALING WITH DEATH
He also shared how he found out about the late star’s death. Gasol processed Kobe’s death by shutting himself from people and didn’t speak to anyone for days on end.
