Woman Tells Biological Father He Won't Walk Her down the Aisle

Often, what constitutes a real parent is blurred by situations like adoption. One woman is adamant that her real father is not her biological one, but is the man who took care of her all her life until adulthood.

On Reddit, one woman is pondering whether she went overboard when she reacted to her biological father's question about walking her down the aisle in the future.

The woman explained that she is one half of a twin and was adopted at birth while her sister was not. She also has half-siblings from one of her mom's previous relationships.

The woman's adoptive parents thought they would be getting both twins at first, but her birth parents changed their mind at the last minute. Also, the woman has health issues while her sister doesn't.

The woman begrudgingly attended, knowing that her birth parents would be there. Her biological father ended up drunk during the virtual reception. That's when he asked about attending future weddings.

At 16, the woman found her twin sister, and the pair began a relationship. They never got very close due to the fact that the woman despises her birth parents for giving her up.

Nonetheless, she does have a relationship with her birth parents as well as her half-sisters. Recently, one of the half-sisters got married. They held the reception via a Zoom call.

THE WEDDING FIASCO

The woman begrudgingly attended, knowing that her birth parents would be there. Her biological father ended up drunk during the virtual reception. That's when he asked about attending future weddings.

He asked the woman's twin sister when she was going to get married, and she responded that she does not believe in it. He then asked the woman when he would walk her down the aisle.

WOMAN LASHES OUT

The woman admitted she wants to get married but told her birth father it was her "dad" who would be walking her down the aisle. The man confirmed that yes, as her father, he would do so. Frustrated, the woman said:

"You're my sisters' father. You and your wife gave me up. You're nothing more than a sperm donor to me. The man who got up every time my heart monitor beeped [...], he'll walk me down the aisle."

The birth father promptly hung up, and everyone else attacked the woman for her words. Reddit users had a different stance. While some say that it was the wrong time and place, most agree she was not wrong.

WOMAN HITS BACK AT HUSBAND

Last month, another woman reached the end of her line when it came to her husband publicly insulting her cooking skills. The woman explained how, for six years, the husband would excessively compliment others' cooking.

After doing so, he would then ask his wife why she can't cook like that and suggest that she ask whoever is cooking for classes. The last time he did it, the wife dished out a witty comeback. Now, the two are on rocky ground.
