Woman Didn't Tell Her Ex-Husband When Their Son Passed Away

One woman is going through a dilemma after getting backlash for not telling her ex-husband that their son died. Her father is on the ex-husband's side.

Earlier this week, Reddit users weighed in on the dramatic and heartbreaking story a woman shared about her late son and his father. She explained that her son had a congenital heart defect from birth.

In the first year, the condition turned her and her then-husband's life upside down. As the boy's condition worsened, the father began getting depressed and did not do much in terms of caring for his son.

WOMAN CARES FOR SON HERSELF

The woman took over the 24/7 monitoring and management of her son's medication, procedures, and therapy sessions. After two years, the husband gave up on their marriage.

Following her son's funeral, she stayed with her family for two weeks. That's when her ex-husband arrived, mad at her for not informing him about their son's death.

He described the woman as being "emotionally absent" and said he did not want to live that way. Thankfully, the woman's family provided her with much-needed support.

The woman later found out that her ex-husband had remarried and was living normally as if his son did not exist. The woman continued to ensure the young boy had everything he needed.

SON DIES AND EX-HUSBAND RETURNS

Sadly, she could not save him, and he died. The woman was left with terrible loneliness. She reached out to try and inform her ex-husband, but he had changed his number. She could not reach him.

Following her son's funeral, she stayed with her family for two weeks. That's when her ex-husband arrived, mad at her for not informing him about their son's death.

Despite the woman's efforts to tell him she had tried to reach him, the ex-husband berated the woman, even telling her she was a bad mother. The woman hit back by telling him he had abandoned his son, but to no avail.

DAD DEFENDS HER EX-HUSBAND

The woman's father then defended the ex-husband, saying his anger is understandable. At that point, the woman gave up as she was too tired from being in the middle of grief.

In the comment section of Reddit, the vast majority of users were on the woman's side. Some of them suggested that the man was projecting his own feelings onto her regarding poor parenting.

PARENTS GIVE UP ONE TWIN

Elsewhere, another father who gave up his daughter for adoption got mad when she said she would not allow him to walk her down the aisle. The woman shared her story on Reddit as well.

The woman, a twin, explained that she suffered from an illness and her parents decided to give her up while keeping her healthy twin sister. At about 16, she found her sister and the two kept up a relationship.

WOMAN WANTS REAL DAD AT WEDDING

Begrudgingly, she also kept in touch with her parents. During a wedding for a half-sister, the woman's biological dad asked when he would be walking her down the aisle.

The woman stressed that it was her "dad" who would be walking her down the aisle. When her biological father prodded, she made it clear that she meant her adoptive dad and not him.
