Fans of 'The Talk' Threaten to Boycott the Show Following Marie Osmond's Exit

Marie Osmond recently announced that she was leaving “The Talk.” The show’s fans displeased when the talk show revealed the current hosts without Osmond.

This week, “The Talk” released a new promotional photo of the current hosts after Marie Osmond left the panel. The new season’s hosts are now Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Eve.

In an Instagram post, the co-hosts were seen smiling broadly as they posed without Osmond. The singer had been with the show for only one year before her departure.

MARIE ANNOUNCES EXIT

Osmond announced her sudden departure less than three weeks ago. The CBS daytime talk show is set to return to its Los Angeles studio for the first time since March 2020.

The show went off-air due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus disease. Eve is set to join the rest of her castmates via streaming from London.

FAN'S DISPLEASED BY MARIE’S EXIT

The return of the show, minus Osmond, left a sour taste in some of the fans' mouths. Several of them took to the comments section on the post to lament the loss of the singer.

One of the viewers wrote: "I loved what Marie brought to the show." Someone else angrily complained:

“Won’t be watching since Marie got railroaded out!!”

MARIE WAS THE GREATEST PART OF THE SHOW

A third person felt Osmond had been the greatest part of the talk show. The fan also shared that the musician’s departure was a major loss for “The Talk.”

On September 9, 2020, Marie Osmond took to Instagram to share that she was back in the studio.

WHY OSMOND LEFT

In two tweets on September 3, 2020, Osmond explained how she had made the decision to leave. She shared that she and her husband, Steve Craig, had dropped off their last two children college and this made them relook their lives.

The star and Craig have been married since June 26, 1982. The pair share one child together, Stephen James Craig, who was born a year after their marriage.

MARIE’S CHILDREN

Besides their son, Osmond is also a mother to seven other children. Rachael and Matthew are her children with ex-husband Brian Blosil and they adopted five other children, Jessica, Michael, Brandon, Brianna, and Abigail.

Osmond revealed how she and her husband shared a look before laughing when they recalled that they hadn’t been alone together since 1982. So she was quitting the show in order to spend time with him and visiting their children and grandchildren.

WORKING ON AN ALBUM

A few days later, on September 9, 2020, the artist gave revealed some of the things she's working on since leaving the talk show. Taking to Instagram, she shared that she was back in the studio.

The star was working to finish up a new Symphonic or Broadway album since she now had more free time. She uploaded a photo of herself in studio in front of recording equipment with a producer.

WHO ELSE LEFT THE SHOW

Osmond isn’t the only person “The Talk” has lost this year. Its former executive producer and showrunner, John Redmann, also recently left the show after 10 seasons.

Over the years, the series has lost a couple of hosts. Sara Gilbert, the show's creator and co-host, appeared on the show for the last time on August 2, 2019.
