HER MOM'S DAY ONE PAL

Most fans would remember the humble beginnings of music star Fantasia, who rose to fame for her strong vocals and a victorious stint on the third season of "American Idol." When Fantasia appeared on the talent show, she was a single mom-of-one.

Fantasia, an R&B vocalist, struggled with rocky times and an inability to read, but she stayed on strong. Before "American Idol," the star singer faced stigma for being a teenage mom. She beat the odds, emerged the winner of the famous competition, and dedicated the success to her child.

CUSTODY ISSUES

Another tumultuous time in Fantasia's life was when her ex-partner, Brandel Shouse, resurfaced to engage her in a child custody battle. Shouse claimed that the mother of his child was unfit for motherhood.

Taylor stated that submission was a two-way thing for spouses.

However, the odds ended up being against him because records showed that he abused Fantasia in the past and was absent in his daughter, Zion's life.

Shouse and Fantasia were together for five years but she had to leave due to his reported domestic violence.

A BETTER PLACE

These days, Fantasia seems to be living her best life after she found love in the arms of her spouse, Kendall Taylor. Once when she gave an interview, the singer shared her views on relationships and marriage. According to her, the act of submission was a necessary step for women.

This did not sit right with many fans, but her spouse stepped in to clarify. He stated that submission was a two-way thing for spouses, and most men sadly tended to abuse it.
