ET: 'The Conners' Season 3 Trailer Addresses COVID-19 Pandemic & Gives a Nod to George Clooney
With life starting to get back to normal after the novel coronavirus pandemic, some of the fans' favorite TV shows are also returning. In a recent exclusive, fans get information about ABC's "The Conners" and what they should expect.
ET Online reported earlier this week that the ABC comedy series, "The Conners" will be returning to screens in a fortnight. Sharing an exclusive trailer, the news source confirmed that the family would be dealing with some changes.
Most prominent is the fact that the show will reference the novel coronavirus pandemic. It is pretty accurate, given that many TV shows have woven the health crisis into their stories one way or the other.
The news source explained that the third season will feature more or less the same struggles for the family. They get to navigate financial issues, relationships, and more as they live the normal working-class American life.
Back at the show's virtual press panel, executive producer Bruce Helford explained that it was a no-brainer for them to weave the novel coronavirus pandemic into the new season's story.
He explained that it was the perfect way to depict an everyday family dealing with a crisis that no one ever thought was even possible. Helford also confirmed that they would continue addressing the health crisis. He explained that they had shot four episodes already, and the pandemic features heavily.
The series will also be adding veteran actor Danny Trejo as a guest star for this season.
The executive producer added that there's a high chance for the show to keep up with the theme of the novel coronavirus pandemic for the remainder of the season. Besides their fixation on the novel coronavirus pandemic, "The Conners" also threw an interesting nod to actor George Clooney.
As the ET Online trailer showed, someone had referenced Clooney. Recall that the actor played a role in the series' original adaptation, "Roseanne," back in the 80s.

The series will also be adding veteran actor Danny Trejo as a guest star for this season. According to reports, Trejo will play Tito, a neighbor of the Conners who will come looking for some advice.
The reports also explained the series shared some first-look photos of Trejo. The actor is seen wearing a face mask with his smiling face pasted on it. While there was some skepticism about it, "The Conners" has truly become a fan favorite.
Actress and producer Sara Gilbert explained in an interview from earlier this year that it has resonated with many as it tells the story of typical American families. Gilbert explained that this resonance comes primarily from the show's storylines.
They represent what people go through, and they tell relevant stories of real-life struggles. Now that the show is set to return for its third season, fans will have one more thing to watch and entertain themselves with.
