Ashton Kutcher built an entertainment phenomenon with "Punk'd," turning elaborate celebrity pranks into must-watch television throughout the 2000s.

During the premiere of "Vengeance" in July 2022, Kutcher reflected on his years hosting the series and explained why he has no interest in returning. Speaking to former "Bachelorette" star Rachel Lindsay for ExtraTV, the actor admitted the experience left him feeling surprisingly isolated. He recalled:

"I have friends again. For a long time, I would go out and, like, nobody would want to hang out. They were like, 'I am not messing with him.' It's nice to have friends."

1. Kanye West's Film Shoot Shutdown

Interrupting Kanye West's creative process was always going to produce an unforgettable reaction. During the prank, the rapper was convinced that the Los Angeles Film Commission had shut down the filming of his "Jesus Walks" music video because of permit issues.

Refusing to accept the situation, West passionately argued his case, creating one of the show's most talked-about confrontations.

2. Beyoncé Accidentally Ruins Christmas

Few scenarios sound worse than being blamed for canceling Christmas. But that was exactly the situation Beyoncé found herself in after being asked to place a star atop a massive Christmas tree at Universal CityWalk.

Moments later, the display appeared to collapse, leading her to believe she had spoiled the holiday for children who supposedly hadn't received gifts in years. The emotional setup remains one of the series' most memorable celebrity reactions.

3. Taylor Swift's Explosive Wedding Mishap

When "Punk'd" briefly returned in 2012, Justin Bieber stepped in as guest host to prank Taylor Swift. The elaborate setup convinced the singer she had accidentally caused a lavish wedding ceremony on the water to erupt into chaos after an explosive mishap.

Swift's horrified reaction made the prank an instant fan favorite and proved the revived series could still deliver unforgettable television.

4. Kim Kardashian's Gas Station Disaster

One of the show's signature ingredients was controlled chaos, and Kim Kardashian's prank delivered exactly that.

After being told that a devoted fan had stolen Scott Disick's wallet at a gas station, the pair hurriedly drove away before realizing the fuel nozzle was still attached to the vehicle. The staged mishap quickly escalated into one of the series' most memorable fake disasters.

5. Justin Timberlake's Tax Nightmare

Few "Punk'd" episodes have become as legendary as Justin Timberlake's unforgettable encounter with fake government agents. The singer was led to believe he owed $900,000 in unpaid taxes, prompting officials to arrive and begin confiscating many of his prized possessions.

As the situation spiraled further out of control, the singer became visibly emotional, making the reveal all the more memorable once he realized he'd been set up.
