On Thursday, "Blue Bloods" star Steve Schirripa showed photos of himself and a co-star on set for season 11 of the popular crime show. Like most series, the coronavirus caused a setback in filming.

The season 10 finale of "Blue Bloods" aired way back in May. It is a relief for loyal fans to see Schirripa back on the job — while being safe, of course. His latest post is found below.

SCHIRRIPA IS A FAN FAVORITE

Schirripa rose to his highest point of fame thanks to his role in the cop drama, which initially aired back in 2010. Schirripa joined the series in 2015 as Anthony Abetemarco, a senior detective working under Eric Reagan.

Now a fan favorite on the show, Schirripa's storyline and background have significantly expanded to include his character's mother and an ex-wife —played by Suzanne Shepherd and Kate Miller, respectively.

CELEBRATING THE SEASON FINALE

The season 10 finale also saw Schirripa's character encounter a brush with death. Fans were relieved to find this wasn't the case. In May, Schirripa shared a photo of himself watching the season finale at home.

The shot included his pet dachshund. The handsome dog was smartly dressed in a white baseball jersey, just like the one his owner wore. The pair sat in front of a set table with a large television nearby.

SCHIRRIPA BACK ON SET

In his newest tweet, Schirripa dressed more formally, wearing a dark gray suit and a patterned tie above a white button-down shirt. In the first photo, he pointed at his character's name on a wall sign.

The second photo featured co-star Bridget Moynahan who sported a striped navy button-down blouse with a pair of red office pants. She had both fingers pointed as Schirripa.

The pair both wore masks as they posed in front of the camera. "Feels Great To Be Back At Work With My Friend [Bridget Moynahan]!" wrote Schirripa. He asked fans if they were excited about the new season.

SIOBHAN ANNOUNCES FILMING START

The post follows a selfie photo that co-star Siobhan Byrne O'Connor shared a few days prior. In it, one could see that the cast and crew had taken safety measures to thwart COVID-19.

In the photo, O'Connor stood in between two male colleagues wearing a face mask and a face shield. "Masked-up, shielded up, teed-up, wired up..." wrote the actress.

NEW MEMBER FOR SUNDAY DINNERS

Ahead of the season premiere, which is expected sometime in 2021, viewers learned that a new castmember would join the Sunday dinner. Will Hochman, who made his debut last season, plays Joe Hill, Frank Reagan's grandson.

The family did not know about Joe's existence until late last season when they welcomed him into the family with open arms. Joe is already an officer like the majority of the beloved group.
