On October 13, former basketball player Rick Fox's son, Kyle turned 26 years old. To celebrate his son's special day, the proud father shared a photo of Kyle on his Instagram story with the sweet message:

"Happy 26th Birthday @kylea.fox Your Dad Loves You."

The photo that the famous dad shared on his Instagram page was a repost of Kyle's birthday post on his own Instagram page.

The picture showed Kyle sporting a full beard with a bit-too-low haircut that showed off his curly locks. The former basketball player's son wore a plain black T-shirt as he sat in a black leather chair.

Over his head sat a large black and copper headset while he touched a hand to his chin as if he was in deep thought about something important.

According to Kyle's caption, that was the face he made while thinking of what car to rent for his 26th birthday. The day was an exciting one for the basketball player's son.

Interestingly, the road to fixing their relationship began with video games as Fox and Kyle bonded over the younger man's strong affinity for video games.

Fox's relationship with his son, Kyle, was not always so great. The former's career began when the Boston Celtics selected him in the first round of the NBA draft in 1991, three years before Kyle was born.

Six years later, the Celtics released him and he signed with the Lakers where he remained till 2004 when he retired. By then, he realized how much his time in the NBA had almost completely ruined his relationship with Kyle. The athlete said to the Washington Post:

"Ten months out of the year they [the Lakers] owned me."

By the time he put the ball down, his son was already much older and it seemed like their personalities clashed. Fox's somewhat disciplined and rigid behavior was a stark contrast to Kyle's much more relaxed persona.

After spending so much time with Kyle, the former athletes fell in love with video games and before he knew it, he made his move and bought an esports organization. That made them closer than either of them could have ever imagined.

Fox shares Kyle with his former girlfriend, Kari Hillsman. The esports team owner also shares a daughter, Sasha Fox, with his ex-wife, actress Vanessa Williams.

Fox made headlines due to death scare rumors in January when people thought he was involved in the tragic helicopter crash that took the lives of the Lakers' Kobe Bryant and eight others. Fortunately, Fox was not on the helicopter ride and is very much alive, loving his life with his kids.
