Jeannie Mai Reveals That She & Fiancé Jeezy Will Have 2 Wedding Ceremonies — Here's Why
Newly engaged couple Jeannie Mai and her rapper fiancé Jeezy will celebrate their beautiful union with two wedding ceremonies. The duo plans to have fun while pleasing everyone’s wishes.
In an exclusive interview with Access Daily, "The Real" host revealed her wedding plans would include a traditional Vietnamese ceremony as well as the modern wedding that she and Jeezy want. She told host Mario Lopez:
“We’re gonna have one the way me and Jay want and then we’ll have one for Mama Mai, just because if we don’t, we’re gonna hear it for the rest of our lives.”

Mai, who hosts her own YouTube channel, "Hello Hunnay with Jeannie Mai," emphasized that her mother, Mama Mai, would have significant input in putting the traditional wedding together. She said:
“My mom being Vietnamese wants a very Vietnamese traditional wedding. She wants Jay, my fiancé, to wear the Vietnamese garb and to do some of the Vietnamese practices...”
Mai divulged that having two weddings means she will also have two wedding wardrobes and numerous outfit changes on their big day, including plans to showcase some "Dancing With The Stars" (DWTS) routines at the reception.
The couple, who started dating in November 2018 after meeting on Mai’s talk show, got engaged in March this year. The Atlanta rapper surprised the "How do I look?” star with a special Vietnamese date night where he popped the question.
The interracial couple has since made headlines as one of Hollywood’s romantic couples with overt gestures of affection. In September, The “Go Getta” rapper surprised his fiancée with a billboard encouraging his fans to vote for Mai on the dance competition "DWTS." Mai went on to dedicate her performance to the rapper.
Recently, the relationship came under scrutiny when Mai, 41, received backlash from viewers and fans after admitting on her talk show that while she is a dominant person, she would submit to her fiancé, Jeezy, 43, once they are married.
Mai, who previously told Access Daily that she was enjoying the mental and physical benefits of competing on the popular dance competition DWTS, was recently forced to withdraw from the show on Monday after being hospitalized.
The star was diagnosed with epiglottitis, a potentially life-threatening throat condition that needed immediate attention, she revealed in a statement to CBS News.
While the star was heartbroken about the departure, the news of her departure from the show was met with an outpouring of support from the network, her professional dance partner, Brandon Armstrong, and her fans wishing her a speedy recovery.
