Sophia Bush Revealed She Befriended Women Her Ex-Husband Chad Michael Murray Allegedly Cheated on Her With

Some friendships begin in the most unlikely places, and the "One Tree Hill" actress formed bonds she cherishes with women the public might never expect her to speak to.

Sophia Bush, 44, appeared on the Wednesday, October 21, 2026, episode of "Call Her Daddy" to discuss her upcoming memoir, "And I Will Tell You Mine: Notes from a Life in Progress."

Her conversation with host Alex Cooper turned to her brief marriage to fellow "One Tree Hill" star Chad Michael Murray and an unexpected outcome of that relationship.

Bush revealed that she had become friends with some of the women with whom Murray, 45, allegedly had affairs during their relationship.

The memoir touches on those relationships. "I wrote about some of the friendships I made with women who I think the world would probably think I would never speak to, that I really cherish," Bush shared.

The actress said that when she looks at the group, she sees nothing but strong women. She even joked that Murray had excellent taste and that she would pick any one of them in a lineup.

The "One Tree Hill" star also said the friendships work because everyone involved has changed so much. According to Bush, the women are very different people today from who they were back then.

Murray has not responded publicly to Bush's cheating allegations. In 2023, though, he did address similar claims from his ex-girlfriend Erin Foster, who said he cheated on her with Bush.

The early-2000s heartthrob told E! News that he didn't want to revisit the allegations because no one ever wins in such situations. He added that he felt fortunate about where he was in life.

How the Marriage Began and Ended

Bush and Murray met on the set of "One Tree Hill" and started dating in 2003. They married two years later, when she was 22 and he was 23, but separated after five months. Their divorce was then finalized in December 2006.

At the time, the actress told People the situation was difficult and unfortunate. She has rarely discussed the marriage since but made an exception for her memoir.

The 44-year-old said the relationship had been so public that leaving it out felt impossible. She added that healing had made it easier to talk about the past and noted that she had moved on and wished Murray well.

The book also recalls a warning from "One Tree Hill" costar Hilarie Burton, who urged Bush not to date Murray. Bush told Cooper that Burton had worked with Murray before and that the experience had not gone well.

The exes have since married other people. Murray has been in a relationship with Sarah Roemer since 2013, and the couple has three children: an 11-year-old son and two daughters, ages nine and two.

Bush wed Grant Hughes in June 2022 but filed for divorce 13 months later. In 2025, she married former soccer player Ashlyn Harris.
