Monica's Daughter Laiyah Steals Hearts Rocking Afro Puffs as She Poses in New Photos

Monica’s daughter Laiyah Brown is a bright star following her momma’s footsteps in recent posts on her Instagram page. She pulled off some bold poses and showed her style in big afro puffs.

Laiyah Brown is the daughter of one of the biggest names in Rn B, so naturally, the spotlight is her playground. The seven-year-old is just as beautiful and charismatic as her mother, Monica.

In recent posts on her Instagram account, Laiyah looked playfully cool. She rocked her big afro puffs while sitting on a white bench, with one leg over the other and her chin resting on her hand.

Laiyah wore a statement tie-dye hooded sweater and a pair of Nike multi-colored tie-dye socks from Bar Denim. In a second photo, she sat on the bed, flanked by multiple pairs of the tie-dye socks sporting an excited grin.

Fans were shocked to see how much the little girl had grown and looked just like Monica. One person said, “I had to take a double look. She’s growing up. Beautiful little girl!! ??,” while another commented, “She gonna be a model ? so tall.”

Laiyah has already started to develop her sense of style. In another Instagram post just days earlier, she wore a grey “Girl Power” t-shirt and accessorized it with a Louis Vuitton "mini pochette accessoires" bag with gold chain detail.

In the photo, she looked away from the camera while applying her lipgloss. She looked like a little model, and her fans flooded her comments with heart emojis and compliments.

Laiyah is the only daughter of “Grammy Award” winner Monica, 40, and her father is the former NBA player Shannon Brown, 34. She has two half brothers, Rodney, 15, and Romelo, 12, and another half brother, Christopher, from her dad’s side.

Monica tied the knot with Brown in a private ceremony in November 2010, but the marriage failed after almost ten years. The duo went their separate ways in March 2019.

The initial news of Monica and Brown’s divorce affected the family, particularly the kids. They didn't understand what had happened and why the family was splitting.

The exes helped the kids through the transition by being transparent and open with them. They made sure to explain what was happening so that the kids wouldn’t have to deal with confusion after reading about the news online.

Now, Monica and Brown have remained amicable and they are successfully co-parenting. Both parents make sure to celebrate their kids' significant milestones as a family.

Last year, they were both present to celebrate Laiyah’s sixth birthday. The ‘Angel of Mine” singer threw her daughter a “Sweet Six” birthday party, and Brown also showed up for her surprise class party.
