There's no better joy for a mother than seeing her child succeed and get the deserved recognition. For former "American Idol" singer Fantasia Barrino, her son just made her a proud mama.

She recently shared a photo of her son, Dallas Xavier Barrino, on her Instagram story, announcing some big news regarding his academics and how he was awarded for doing well in school.

The post featured Dallas seated on a wooden table, wearing a long-sleeved blue and white T-shirt with a "Sonic the Hedgehog" print, and with his hair cut in a neat short crop.

The eight-year-old looked sweet as he was pictured hard at work with his studies. Proud mama Barrino, who snapped the photo, captioned it:

While Barrino has a 19-year-old daughter, Zion Quari Barrino, from a previous relationship, Dallas was her first son whom she welcomed in December 2011 at a time when her life was, by many accounts, upside-down.

The "Truth Is" singer and Dallas' father, Antwaun Cook, had a publicly ridiculed relationship that eventually led to the decline of her mental health when things got heated with Cook's wife.

Although Barrino claimed that she thought Cook was separated from his wife, Paula, the jilted wife, took up the "alienation of affection" law and sued the singer, plunging her into depression.

After news broke that the "I Believe" singer had allegedly terminated a pregnancy that belonged to Cook, that was the last straw, and the singer attempted suicide via Asprin and sleeping pills.

Fortunately, Barrino lived to see another day, and later, she found love in the arms of Kendall Taylor. The couple was engaged just three months after meeting and tied the knot in 2015.

They recently revealed the amazing news that they were expecting their first child. The baby will join Barrino's two kids as well as Taylor's son Treyshaun from a previous relationship.

For Barrino, her third baby is a miracle as she faced fertility challenges, which took a toll on the couple. The Grammy Award-winner thanked God for blessing her with a child after years of trying.
