TMZ: Eddie Van Halen Cremated 3 Weeks after Death — Son Wolfgang to Scatter Ashes in the Ocean
The late Eddie Van Halen was cremated three weeks after his demise, per reports. His ashes were handed over to his son Wolfgang and are to be scattered in the ocean according to his last wish.
The late Eddie Van Halen will have his final resting place in the Pacific Ocean. According to reports by TMZ, the iconic guitarist was cremated three weeks after he passed away in October.
The music icon's death certificate revealed that his son, Wolfgang Van Halen, was the recipient of the ashes which would be scattered across the ocean off the coast of Malibu.

The publication noted that sources close to the late “Eruption” crooner and his family revealed that Eddie’s last wish was to be spread off the coast of his town. It is believed that Wolfgang would honor his father’s request.
Another celebrity who was recently cremated was late show host Alex Trebek.
It was also revealed on the death certificate that the immediate cause of Eddie’s death was a stroke. Fans may recall that the rock star’s demise was tragically announced on October 6.
The 65-year-old passed from complications following a years-long battle with cancer. His only son, Wolfgang, confirmed his painful demise and took to social media to share a heartfelt and emotional statement.
Wolfgang described Eddie as the best father and admitted that his heart was utterly broken. The 29-year-old has been open with his grieving process, sharing photos of sweet memories he shared with his father.
Amid mourning his dad, Wolfgang confirmed to fans that he won’t be replacing his father in the Van Halen rock band. The music group consisted of Eddie, Wolfgang, his uncle Alex Wolfgang, and singer David Lee Roth.
Eddie was survived by his son and wife, Janie Liszewski. A day after his demise, Janie, who was married to the rockstar for 11 years, mourned him in a touching tribute. She wrote alongside a photo of their feet at the beach:
“My husband, my love, my Peep, My heart and soul have been shattered into a million pieces. I never knew it was possible to cry so many tears...”
She remembered their love journey, declaring their forever connection, then wrote that saying goodbye was the hardest thing she has had to do. The 50-year-old concluded, promising her late husband that she would see him again soon.
According to reports, Janie was by her husband’s side when he passed away. Alex, Wolfgang, and Eddie’s ex-wife Valerie Bertinelli joined her. Another celebrity who was recently cremated was late show host Alex Trebek.
The “Jeopardy!” host passed away on November 8 after a long battle with Pancreatic cancer. His death certificate revealed that his ashes were handed over to his wife, Jean Trebek, and spread at Studio City, California, where he and Jean lived.
