Former "American Idol" contestant Carrie Underwood recently made a virtual appearance on Kelly Clarkson's daytime talk show, "The Kelly Clarkson Show," where she opened up about her son Isaiah.

Clarkson referred to a family photo featuring fellow country singer Underwood, her husband, and five-year-old son Isaiah, who was the star of the image with his grinch costume.

The talk show host explained that her kids like fictional characters like Elsa and asked Underwood why Isaiah was intrigued by The Grinch instead of Santa Claus.

Underwood then explained that Isaiah often gravitates towards the creepy aspect of things. The singer said he probably got that from her because she loves scary movies as well. She added:

Clarkson then said she is the complete opposite of Underwood, noting that even though her kids like to watch scary movies sometimes, she is often more interested in funny films.

Moving away from Isaiah's love for The Grinch, Clarkson asked Underwood if the five-year-old was excited to hear himself sing when they were recording their Christmas duet, "Little Drummer Boy."

Underwood confirmed that Isaiah was indeed excited even though he had never been in the studio with her before. The proud mother concluded, saying her little boy did a great job.

The award-winning singer's appearance on "The Kelly Clarkson Show" is not the first time she is gushing about how proud she is of Isaiah for joining her on their duet.

Taking to Instagram, Underwood shared a snapshot of herself and Isaiah singing together in the studio. She accompanied it with a caption describing her son's voice as the sweetest voice in the recording.

The mother-son duet is a single off Underwood's new album, "My Gift," released in September. "Little Drummer Boy" will also be a part of her HBO Max Christmas special. Underwood shares Isaiah with her husband, Mike Fisher, whom she has been married to for ten years.

In addition to the five-year-old, they are also parents to one-year-old Jacob, whom they welcomed in January 2019. Along with her successful career as a singer, Underwood evidently enjoys being a wife and a mother to her two beautiful boys.
