Kobe's jersey retirement anniversary comes about 11 months after the NBA star tragically passed away alongside his 13-year-old daughter Gianna and seven others in a helicopter crash.
In the wake of Kobe's death, his wife and kids have constantly found new ways to honor him and keep his legacy alive.

Before his death, not only did Kobe make a name for himself as an exceptional athlete, he was also a devoted family man who loved nothing more than being a father to his kids and a husband to his wife.
In addition to Natalia and Gianna, Kobe and Vanessa also share two daughters: four-year-old Bianka Bella and one-year-old Capri Kobe whom they welcomed in June 2019.
Alongside his wife and kids, Kobe also shared a strong bond with his two sisters, Sharia and Shaya. The three siblings were born to the family of Joe Bryant and his wife Pamela.
In the wake of Kobe's death, his wife and kids have constantly found new ways to honor him and keep his legacy alive. One of such ways is by spending time with some of the people he had a close relationship with.
In April, Kobe's wife and kids were pictured spending time on a boat cruise in San Francisco with one of the NBA legend's closest pals, Spanish basketball player Pau Gasol.
While Kobe might be gone, there is no doubt that Vanessa and her kids draw strength from their loved ones and all of those whom the late NBA star impacted.
