It has been a tough year for the world with the COVID-19 pandemic rocking the foundations and placing it on a standstill. It has, however, been a tougher year for the world of sports.

Lakers player LeBron James is one of the many people still reeling from the tragedy. He has, however, never failed to express his undying love for Bryant over the months and continues to send out tributes to him as he left behind an indelible mark.
In the 35-year-old's most recent homage to the late icon, he took to his Instagram feed to post a heartbreaking photo followed by a touching message of love and reverence.
In the photo, James, who was crowned Time's Athlete of the Year, was seen picking up a gleaming Lakers Championship ring from a case, while the late Bryant stood in front of him dressed in a full black suit and a huge proud smile on his face.
Captioning the post was a bittersweet tribute in which the athlete gushed about the feelings that coursed through his body as he picked up the ring. He also spoke about his love for Bryant and how much he was missed.
The rings have been described as the most valuable NBA Championship rings in history.
The post came a night after the Lakers received their Championship rings for the 2019-2020 basketball season. The team won the 2020 NBA Championship in October after a victory against the Miami Heat with a 106-90 score.
The win marked James' fourth all-time championship victory. He once opened up about how Bryant's career and legacy impacted him to push himself to always want to be victorious. No doubt, even from beyond, the late legend still inspires the living.
It goes without notice that the Championship rings paid homage to the late legend. They were specially designed by Jason Arasheben and were given to the winning team on Tuesday night.
Spectacularly designed, they feature 52 carats of yellow diamonds and 95 carats of amethyst. However, the most striking aspect of the rings is their outstanding tributes to Bryant.
Inscribed along the sides of them are Mamba snakes — which have been linked to the late athlete ever since he adopted the "Black Mamba" nickname back in the day. It also featured Bryant's former jersey numbers 8 and 24 at the center.
The rings have been described as the most valuable NBA Championship rings in history, seeing that they have the most diamond carats.
It was designed to make a statement because it had been ten years since the Lakers had won. With this victory, it is clear that the motive was to keep Bryant's legacy burning.
