While cheering on his hometown Raptors during Game Five of the 2019 NBA Finals in Toronto, Drake drew attention with a Richard Mille RM 69 Tourbillon Erotic valued at approximately $750,000, although some reports have estimated its value at as much as $1.2 million.

Rather than displaying only the time, the watch featured a unique mechanical complication that allowed its wearer to create suggestive messages.

Three rotating panels combined different phrases at the press of a button, pairing opening statements such as "I'd love to" with verbs and endings to generate explicit sentences.

The Grammy-winning rapper's watch was set to display an especially provocative message during the game, making it one of the night's most talked-about accessories.

Richard Mille has described the concept as a modern interpretation of erotic watches that have existed throughout horological history. According to the company, the complication was designed to let wearers reveal "their deepest desires" whenever they chose.

Rafael Nadal's Richard Mille RM 27-04 Tourbillon Rafael Nadal – $1.05 million

Rafael Nadal has spent much of his career wearing a watch while competing, something few professional tennis players attempt. That is possible because Richard Mille designed the RM 27-04 Tourbillon Rafael Nadal specifically to withstand the demands of elite-level tennis.

Valued at approximately $1.05 million — although some reports have estimated its value at as much as $2 million — and limited to just 50 pieces, the lightweight watch accompanied Nadal during his victorious run at the 2022 Australian Open, where he claimed a record-setting 21st Grand Slam singles title.

Its engineering is just as remarkable as its price. The grade 5 titanium tourbillon movement is suspended inside the case by an intricate steel cable woven to resemble the strings of a tennis racket.

According to the watch brand's website, the process mirrors the way a racket is strung, with the movement attached to the cable structure using titanium hooks. Built from a carbon-fiber-reinforced composite, the watch weighs only about 30 grams with its strap.

Despite that featherweight construction, Richard Mille says it can withstand accelerations exceeding 12,000 g, allowing Nadal to wear it during competition without compromising performance.

Cristiano Ronaldo's watch collection is filled with rare pieces, but few are as exclusive as his custom Girard-Perregaux Planetarium Tri-Axial Tourbillon.

Crafted in 18-karat rose gold and finished with baguette-cut diamonds across both the case and bracelet, the one-of-one creation has been valued at between $1.7 million and $2 million. Beneath the diamonds lies an equally impressive feat of engineering.

The watch is based on Girard-Perregaux's Planetarium Tri-Axial Tourbillon, a highly complex model featuring a triple-axis tourbillon, a rotating terrestrial globe that completes one revolution every 24 hours, and a moon-phase display.

Since Ronaldo's version was created exclusively for him and has never been offered for public sale, it remains one of the rarest watches in his collection.

Its value comes from far more than precious metals. The watch incorporates 20 complications, 214 components, and 1,366 individual parts, making it one of the most technically sophisticated wristwatches ever produced by the Swiss manufacturer.

Floyd Mayweather's Jacob & Co. Billionaire – $18 million

Few celebrity watches have generated as much attention as Floyd Mayweather's Jacob & Co. Billionaire. The undefeated boxing champion revealed the extraordinary purchase in 2018 after sharing it on Instagram, introducing fans to a watch valued at an astonishing $18 million.

Originally unveiled in 2015, the one-of-a-kind Billionaire was created through a collaboration between Jacob & Co. founder Jacob Arabo and Flavio Briatore's Billionaire Lifestyle brand.

Nearly every visible surface is covered with emerald-cut diamonds, totaling approximately 260 carats, each carefully arranged across the 18-karat white gold case and bracelet.

Inside the diamond-covered exterior sits a skeletonized movement featuring a constantly rotating tourbillon designed to improve accuracy by counteracting the effects of gravity on the watch's mechanics.

Powered by the 167-component JCAM09 caliber with a 72-hour power reserve, the Billionaire combines high-end watchmaking with one of the most extravagant gemstone settings ever seen on a wristwatch.

Whether designed to survive a Grand Slam final, showcase centuries of watchmaking expertise, or make an unforgettable statement, these extraordinary timepieces prove that for some celebrities, a watch is far more than a way to tell the time.
