Patrick Dempsey celebrates the final Monday of 2020 with a photo of himself and his white pit bull. Fans of Grey's Anatomy enjoyed a surprise return of Dempsey's character, Dr. Derek Shepherd in the season 17 premiere.
Actor, Patrick Dempsey shares a snap of himself and his dog to bid farewell to the last Monday of the year. Dempsey holds the gaze of the camera as the pet pitbull tilts his head up, almost as if ready to snuggle up to Dempsey.
Fans on the comments share their delight in seeing the pair, with a few referring to the dog as "Clementine." Another follower expresses that pics such as this one turn blue Monday's right side up.

Dempsey wears a grey sweatshirt and matching beaning, with a tan sleeveless down vest on top. He's accessorized with a pair of oversized glasses with perspex frames, as one commenter writes:
"Can we please keep these Monday moods as a tradition in 2021??"
Other commenters give the pic their approval calling it beautiful, another compliments Dempsey on his glasses and a different commenter writes how they wish to trade places with Clementine.
Fans of the long-running hit show, "Grey's Anatomy" were beside themselves when Dempsey's character, Dr. Derek Shepherd, returned in the season 17 premiere last month. The season is dedicated to healthcare workers in light of the Corona Pandemic.

Meredith Grey - played by Ellen Pompeo - collapses in the hospital parking lot. She then enters a dreamlike state, where Dempsey's character - Shepherd - appears to her on a beach.
Dempsey revealed on Ellen Degeneres that he had reunited with Pompeo earlier in the year, to talk about how they could get more people to wear masks throughout the pandemic and that was what sparked the idea for Shepherd's return, adding:
"No one knew until I showed up on set that day. It was really exciting and fun, and it was great to see everybody."
The show's runner, Krista Vernoff, revealed that fans can expect to catch three more citings of Dempsey, in the second half of season 17, set to return in March 2021.
Dempsey enjoyed 11 seasons on the show, before his final appearance, which saw his character die due to complications following a roadside accident.
The Shonda Rhimes creation is heralded as the longest-running medical drama of all time. It debuted on ABC in 2005 and has aired over 300 episodes aired to date.
Devotees of the show are constantly wondering when they will have to say goodbye to the show for good. As it turns out, not even Vernoff can answer that question.
She revealed that season 17 will be an exceptional season, where she has planned for both a season finale or a series finale. For now, she is happy to have fans continue to enjoy the show.
