9-Year-Old Boy Heroically Rescues His 5-Year-Old Sister from Carjacking — inside the Case
A 9-year-old boy is called a hero after rescuing his 5-year-old sister from a carjacking on January 7th, 2021, in Moody, Alabama.
Ethan Walker, a 9-year-old boy from Alabama, is called a hero after rescuing himself and his 5-year-old sister from a carjacking on January 7th, 2021, in the City of Moody.
Ethan, his sister Audrey, and their mother, Kirsten Walker, had gone to get gas near Highway 411 and 1-20 as reported by the Moody Police Department on their Facebook page.

As Kirsten had gotten out of the car to fill it, one of the suspects had jumped into the front seat. As she tried to get the car keys, he pulled a gun out and pointed it at her.
This was when Ethan made his heroic and brave move, saving himself and his sister from possible danger. In a video with ABC 3340 News, he said this about the situation:
“When he got in, I didn’t really notice. But once my mom jumped in, that’s when I started to notice he was trying to take the car."

It was after he noticed that he got out of the car, walked around to the other side where his sister was, and opened her car door. He then unbuckled her seatbelt and got her out of the car.
Kirsten, the mother, opened up and said she had been in tears, not knowing if her children would be taken. However, as soon as everyone was out of the car, the suspect drove off.
The Moody Police Department shared that two suspects had been taken into custody connected to the carjacking.
Brian Walker, Ethan's father, shared that he is so proud of his son and his ability to keep calm and maintain his composure to help himself and his sister out of the devastating carjacking.
He was mortified that he had not been there to help his family, but expressed his gratitude to his son in ABC 3340 News' interview and said:
"To be able to get over there and unbuckle the car seat without fumbling or freaking out to where he couldn’t get it done – he kept his composure and did a fantastic job.”
The Moody Police Department shared that two suspects had been taken into custody connected to the carjacking and used FLOCK camera systems and vehicle tagging to apprehend the suspects.
Thomas Hunt, the Mood Police Department Chief, plans to honor Ethan and his bravery soon. His mom Kirsten shared that he is very excited about it.
