Rebel Wilson Recalls How She Was Kidnapped at Gunpoint in Mozambique — Here's What Happened
Rebel Wilson revealed that she was once kidnapped and shared the frightening circumstances that led to the ordeal and how it unfolded. She shares that she learned something about herself in the process.
Actress Rebel Wilson shared her scary experience getting kidnapped with a group of women during her interview with the former Royal Marines Commando Ant Middleton for his "Straight Talking" show.
Wilson's been frequenting headlines due to her physical transformation and blossoming love life, and she candidly opened up about the incident she luckily escaped unharmed, as per SkyNews.
THE KIDNAPPING
The "Pitch Perfect" star is a frequent traveler. During one of her trips to Africa, the vehicle she shared with other women got stopped, and men with guns ordered them to get out as she recalled:
"And [they] were like, 'You've got to get off your truck.' They took us to this house in the middle of nowhere."
HOW IT PLAYED OUT
The actress and the other women ended up spending the night in the house somewhere in rural Mozambique. "Petrified" that one of them might be taken during the dead of night, they all linked arms.
The next day, the armed men returned their vehicle and ushered them to "go, go, go." The men didn't have to ask again. They made for the South African border and crossed a few hours later.
CALM UNDER PRESSURE
Throughout the ordeal, Wilson kept a cool head and everyone together, learning something about herself in the process, as she added:
"I feel like I was very good in the crisis. I was like a team leader."
A FREQUENT TRAVELER
Wilson and Middleton had the candid conversation in Mexico, where the actress spent many vacations in the past. However, her jet-setting ways had netizens express their dismay, especially last December at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
On December 23, Wilson shared an image taken with her friends while traveling by private jet following their ski holiday in Aspen, and since none of them wore face masks, netizens got upset, as some commented:

When it comes to the year ahead, the actress wants to build on the healthy changes she made in her life last year and strengthen her body by indulging in her favorite outdoor activities, which include skiing.
