Betty White's fans have started a petition for a "Betty White Day" on her birthday in her hometown of Oak Park, Illinois.
A Betty White fan, Konrad Juengling, has started a petition for her hometown of Oak Park to officially mark her birthday, January 17, as "Betty White Day."

He shared that he has been a fan of White since he was young as he watched reruns of "The Tyler Moore Show" and then enjoyed her in the "Golden Girls" later on.
He went on to compliment her acting skills, including her comedic timing. He hopes that the Oak Park city council will see the petition and noted that others support it. He said:
"With the petition getting some momentum, it'll give the city council something concrete to see while they're considering the initiative."
When writing this article, the "Betty White Day" Petition has gained almost 900 signatures. He hopes that with the signatures, the council will see there is interest in the actress and the possibility of having a day after her.
On January 17, the television icon turned 99, and of course, she had to make a joke about it. She shared with the Associated Press that she can stay up as late as she wants as she does not need to ask for permission.
She had driven supply trucks while serving in the American Women's Voluntary Services during WWII.
On her birthday, she shared on her Instagram some more exciting news. Alongside a clip of her '70s show, "Betty White's Pet Set," she shared that the show would have a re-release.
Fans shared their support of her in the comments of the post. The show features the animal-loving White visiting with animal experts, wild animals, celebrities, and their pets. The caption of her post read:
"I am also very pleased to let you know about the re-release of my long-lost series after fifty years! I am just so proud of the “Pet Set.” "
The actress has been in the industry for almost 80 years. However, before her famous career, she had driven supply trucks while serving in the American Women's Voluntary Services during WWII.
White would later have a very successful career in the entertainment industry, including being the first woman to produce a Tv show. Her show was called "Life With Elizabeth."
Many of her celebrity friends and costars shared well wishes for her birthday, including her costar from "The Proposal" Ryan Reynolds and Ed Anser, her costar from "The Tyler Moore Show."
Although it is unknown whether she will get a day named after her, she probably deserves it after her successful and long career in Hollywood! Click on the petition here.
