Many times, celebrities, politicians, and activists send messages with their outfits, and that was precisely what First Lady of the United States, Jill Biden, did with her Inauguration nightdress.

Jill wore an ivory coat and Gabriela Hearst-designed custom dress during her appearance on "Celebrating America," a Tom Hanks-hosted 90-minute multi-network special on Wednesday night.

According to a press release from Hearst, the double-breasted jacket Jill wore was made of cashmere. At the same time, her silk wool cady dress had embroidery that reflected federal flowers from all American states and territories.

To cap off her gorgeous appearance, Jill wore leather gloves that Hearst also designed. The Uruguayan-born designer also made the coat Jill's daughter, Ashley, wore to Wednesday morning's inauguration ceremony.

Meanwhile, Jill and President Joe Biden were joined by a special viewing partner during their appearance on the televised inauguration special.

PEOPLE shared a cute picture on Instagram that showed the President cuddling his grandson, Beau, while Jill stood beside him in her stunning outfit.

"Celebrating America" was a stand-in for the Inaugural Ball, which had to be canceled due to precautionary measures amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Despite being a virtual event, it still had performances from Demi Lovato, Katy Perry, Justin Timberlake, and more. The Bidens also looked impressive in their outfits on the night.

Jill's granddaughters, Natalie and Finnegan, also looked gorgeous in their cocktail dresses designed by Markarian, a New York City brand. Maisy Biden wore a Rodarte dress, which she matched with Nike sneakers.

While First daughter Ashley Biden, on the other hand, wore a Ralph Lauren tuxedo on the night. She completed her look with a cropped cigarette ant and open bow tie.

Meanwhile, Jill's chic look at the virtual inauguration concert was a follow-up to the Markarian outfit she wore earlier in the day to her husband's inauguration.

Her inauguration outfit included a blue custom coat and dress designed by Alexandra O'Neill, who chose the color because it signifies trust, confidence, and stability.
