A motorist was driving by a farm and accidentally killed a calf owned by the farm owner who wanted to play smart in the situation, but it turned out the motorist was smarter.

Mistakes happen often, and sometimes we can not take back what happened but wish we can get some mercy and kindness for our wrongdoing.

One motorist thought he would get understanding after an accident went wrong. The motorist was driving by a farm, and suddenly he heard a shout.

Coming down from his vehicle, he realized that he had killed a calf belonging to the farm owner he was driving past.

Being a gentleman, the motorist walked down to the calf owner to explain what had happened. Getting there, he told the man that it was an accident that occurred quickly and asked what the calf was worth.

The motorist thought the farmer would see his kind heart and good intentions and probably let him off with an “it’s okay, this happens all the time,” but the farmer was in no mood for giveaways.

Hearing the motorist ask him of the calf’s worth, the farmer thought of a way to make the most of his calf’s death. He decided to add what the calf was worth and what it would worth in a few years.

"The calf is worth about $200," the farmer said and remarked that it would not be what he would charge the motorist. To the shock of this unfortunate motorist, the farmer had plans for his dead calf.

He continued his assessment and told the driver that the calf would have been worth $900 in six years, but since it would not be alive in six years, he would be charging him the $900 now.

Shocked at his tactics, the motorist decided to showcase his smartness. The motorist handed a cheque to the farmer and said, “Here is the cheque for $900,” the motorist said and added that:
