'Wonder Woman' Star Lynda Carter Announces Death of Her Husband of 37 Years, Robert A Altman

Actress Lynda Carter took to social media this week to reveal the sad news that she’d lost the love of her life. The star shared a touching message to bid him farewell and to confirm the news of his death.

Robert A. Altman, the husband of “Wonder Woman” actress Lynda Carter, 69, passed away at 73. The gaming CEO’s wife confirmed on Instagram that he died last week.

Carter included a black-and-white throwback photo of herself and Altman having a picnic by the river in her lengthy post. She noted in the caption how Altman had been:

“The love of my life and he always will be.”

The actress shared how they had been married for 37 years when he passed. She confessed to having had a passionate relationship that she hoped everyone could be lucky enough to experience in their lives.

Carter revealed how they’d always been each other’s champions and protectors when her husband was alive. The star also shared their gratitude for their two children, James and Jessica.

She described the children as the lights of her life and her husband’s greatest joy. Revealing how Altman’s legacy would carry on, the actress noted how she saw her husband in their children.

She also believed he lived on through them. Altman’s widow also thanked her fans for their condolences on behalf of herself and her children; and shared her appreciation of their memories of the late businessman.

Carter confessed that she loved hearing how fans met her husband at concerts or through the gaming world. She also let his fans know that he’d loved meeting them and hearing their stories.

Carter met Altman after her 6-year marriage to producer Ron Samuels ended in 1982.

The last part of her tribute was directed to her loving husband. She grieved for him by calling the late businessman an honorable person she had the privilege to have known.

The actress shared her gratitude for having been his wife and the mother of his children. She also thanked Altman for having given her all the love that she had in her life, adding:

“Nothing could prepare our family for this moment, but we will do our best to follow our dreams and honor the legacy you’ve left behind.”

The star concluded her message by declaring that she’d always love her husband. Altman was the co-founder of the video game company ZeniMax Media, which published games like Fallout and The Elder Scrolls.

Carter met the businessman after her 6-year marriage to producer Ron Samuels ended in 1982. She and Altman, a lawyer at the time, got married in 1984, and she moved to Washington, D.C., to be with him.
