Couple Who Saved Freezing Dog Are Reported to the Police for Breaching Lockdown Rules
Ciara Nolan and Jean Francois Bonnet were reported to the police after the heroic couple rescued a dog while hiking in the Wicklow Mountains, on the east coast of Ireland.
Ciara Nolan and Jean Francois Bonnet posted a video on Tik Tok that quickly went viral. In the video, the couple showed how they had found a dog almost frozen while hiking through the mountains.
They immediately took care of the dog, wrapped her in their thermal blankets, and carried her back to their home because she could no longer move due to the cold. As the couple wrote in their account, they had to carry her for 10 km until they reached the house.

Once at their house, they helped her to warm up and located her owners. The Goetelen family, the dog’s owners, went to pick her up and couldn't hide their happiness thanks to this wonderful couple that had rescued their beloved pet.
However, not everything is joy and words of congratulations. The couple who made this heroic rescue has been reported to the Irish authorities by an online user who saw the video for not complying with lookdown restrictions in Ireland.
HEROIC COUPLE
Nolan and Bonnet work as doctors and reported that they went hiking at the Elbowroom Escape lodge in Donard, Co Wicklow, at the time the dog's rescue occurred.
They found Neesha, a stray and nearly frozen Golden Retriever in the Wicklow Mountains, on the east coast of Ireland, on February 6. Bonnet carried the dog the entire way, while Nolan documented the journey with her camera.
LOOKING FOR NEESHA
Neesha had been out for a walk with her owners and another family pet, Harley, in the area when the dogs ran off to chase a deer and both got lost. The family returned the next day to see if Neesha had returned but could not find her, just Harley came back.
There was no sign of their beloved pet so they reported her missing. At this moment, they had no idea how she could survive on her own for so long in such hostile weather. Its owner thought she found some kind of shelter perhaps.
FAMILY GATHERED
The Goetelen family was very concerned about their lost pet. The teenager of the family, Shannah, explained that she could not sleep at night thinking about her beloved Neesha alone, being cold.
The family is happy now that they are all together again. They had almost given up hope of finding Neesha safe when they received the happy news. The Goetelen are very grateful to Nolan and Bonnet for rescuing their pet and bringing her back home.
THE COMPLAINT
The video Bonnet uploaded to his Tik Tok Channel quickly reached more than 400,000 views and became viral on Twitter as well. Although they received thousands of positive comments, some of the online users decided to report them.
The police service in the Wicklow area received a complaint that the couple had not respected the lookdown restrictions, on non-essential travel rules beyond 5 km from the house. The case is being investigated by the Garda personnel to confirm the complaint.
