VAN HUNT IS FROM OHIO
Berry's infamous boo, Hunt was born in Dayton, Ohio, in March 1970. He and his family moved to Texas, where they lived shortly before resettling in Atlanta.
HE IS A COLLEGE DROPOUT
Hunt attended Morehouse College and was studying English before dropping out. He has previously described himself as a terrible student and noted that he would be in applied mathematics or astrophysics if he did not go into music.
HE IS A MUSICIAN
Hunt has always been passionate about music since his childhood and started drumming at 7. He added the saxophone to his skillset before becoming good with the bass, keyboard, and guitar.
After dropping out of Morehouse College, he produced some demos for hip-hop artists in his neighborhood as a means to pay his rent. While doing that, he met legends in the music industry like Jermaine Dupris and TLC.
In 2001, he signed with Capitol Records. "American Idol" star Randy Jackson became his manager a year later. Three years after signing with Capitol Records, he released his debut self-titled album.
This earned him a Grammy nomination for Best Urban/Alternative Performance. To date, he has released five studio albums and five EPs. He has also been on tour with major artists like Coldplay, The Roots, Kanye West, Mary J. Blige, and Alicia Keys.
HE IS A GRAMMY AWARD WINNER
In 2007, Hunt won a Grammy for Best R&B Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals" following his collaboration with John Legend and Joss Stone on the 2006 tribute album for Sly & The Family Stone, "Different Strokes For Different Folks."
BERRY WISHES SHE KNEW HIM SOONER
On Monday, Hunt turned 51, and Berry paid tribute to him with some sweet words on an Instagram post she made. She shared a picture showing her cuddled up and laughing with her man, captioning it:
"A real woman can do it all by herself, but a real MAN won't let her. Happy birthday VanO. I only wish I'd known you sooner..."
The 54-year-old actress also paid tribute to Hunt on Valentine's Day when she shared pictures of them about to kiss while clad in matching onesies with multicolored hearts, captioning it:
"To all the Valentines who may be struggling to get it right...I feel you, but never give up and NEVER SETTLE for less..."
A HAPPY COUPLE
Berry's posts about Hunt show that they are a happy couple who enjoys being together. The actress's personal trainer, Peter Lee Thomas, revealed that Hunt is an amazing guy.
