Amy Schumer Says Dad Gordon Has Been Hospitalized & Is in Good Spirits after a Sawing Accident

American actress and standup comedian Amy Schumer took to her Instagram page on Monday to reveal that her father, Gordon Schumer, has been hospitalized but remains in good spirits.

On Monday, popular actress and award-winning comedian Amy Schumer recently shared a picture of herself posing beside her father, Gordon Schumer.

Gordon was lying on a hospital bed in the snapshot while Amy posed beside him, clad in a wool sweatshirt and floral facemask. In the post's caption, Amy offered a lighthearted explanation to her fans and followers on why her father was hospitalized.

She wrote: "I have terrible news. My father was in an unfortunate magician sawing accident. He has a good spirit through it all, and we're still hoping the magician will turn back up."

Schumer's fans took turns to send her and Gordon well-wishes and also pray for his quick recovery. However, it remains unclear why Gordon was hospitalized.

In the past, the actress has been candid with her father's history of health issues and revealed in 2015 that he has been battling multiple sclerosis since she was a teenager.

Gordon had tears in his eyes when he realized he was about to meet Hawn.

Amy recently got some medical attention of her own. On Sunday, she received the COVID-19 vaccine and was excited about getting it, so much that she wore her nicest dress to do so.

Amy shared videos and photos from the vaccination site, showing as she danced in the car with her husband, Chris Fischer. She also declared that it was her "going to get the vaccine energy."

The actress wore a sparkly mini dress with a cutout hole in the arm for the occasion and revealed she wanted to entertain some of the site workers.

Two weeks ago, Amy shared a heartwarming picture that showed her father reuniting with her nearly two-year-old son, Gene, for the first time in almost a year due to the pandemic.

In the picture she shared, she cradled Gene while wearing a white facemask. Gene had a pacifier in his mouth and donned a red-and-blue plaid shirt, which matched Gordon's black check buttoned-up shirt.

Following the sweet meeting between grandpa and grandson, Amy shared yet another emotional post, this time a video showing her dad meeting Goldie Hawn for the first time.

In the video, which Amy first shared in 2017, Gordon had tears in his eyes when he realized he was about to meet Hawn though Amy told him to play it cool.

When the Hollywood icon entered the room and saw how moved Gordon was, she also said she was emotional, after which they exchanged hugs. The 75-year-old Hawn and Amy, 39, starred together in the 2017 comedy "Snatched."
