Gayle King Hopes Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Can Find a Way to Unite with the Royal Family

CBS host Gayle King chooses to stay positive about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's current situation with the royal family. The television personality expressed hope that the couple would reunite with their family.

Gayle King has shared her thoughts about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's controversial interview with Oprah Winfrey, which aired on CBS last month, and the television personality.

During an appearance on "The Drew Barrymore Show," King noted that Markle and Harry's interview opened up conversations that people in and out of the royal family have avoided having for years.

Speaking further, King added that the current situation with the royals reflects a family seeking unison. She said that she hopes that would eventually be the case for Meghan, Harry, and the rest of the royal family.

King's recent appearance on "The Drew Barrymore Show" comes nearly a month after Markle and Harry shared some of the things they considered before stepping down as senior members of the royal families and exiting the United Kingdom.

Following the sit-down, King revealed that she spoke to Prince Harry to confirm if he had spoken to his brother and father. Though the television personality affirmed that the royals had indeed talked, the conversation was seemingly unproductive.

King added that even though the royal family insisted that they wanted to work things out privately, Markle and Harry were still upset about the disparaging false stories that were coming out about them.

Markle revealed that there had been discussions about her son Archie's skin color.

A few days after King gave an update on the royals' situation, English broadcaster Piers Morgan called out the television personality for appointing herself as Markle and Harry's mouthpiece.

Morgan accused King of facilitating Markle and Harry's public trashing of the royal family while adding that she should instead do her job as a journalist by asking the couple to tell the truth.

He followed up, noting that it is not racist to disbelieve someone who lies on social media. This was a jab at Markle's claims of racism during their interview with Winfrey.

In the sit-down, Markle revealed that there had been discussions about her son Archie's skin color. In response to this, the Queen released a statement, revealing that the couple's claims would be taken very seriously and dealt with privately.

Though it is nearly a month after Markle and Harry's interview, controversies continue to trail the couple's claims. It, however, remains uncertain how they have decided to move forward from the situation.
