Gabby Barrett shared a glimpse of life as a new mother three months after welcoming a daughter, Baylah May, with her husband, Cade Foehner.
Gabby Barrett and Cade Foehner’s love for music and talent for singing allowed them to meet during their time as contestants on the hit singing competition series “American Idol” season 16.
The pair quickly fell in love and tied the knot in October 2019. In the last few years, the couple expanded their career in the music industry and their family as they recently welcomed their firstborn, Baylah May.
JOURNEY INTO MOTHERHOOD
The 20-year-old country star gave birth on January 18 and could not help but gush about her daughter and share the experience as a first-time mom. During an interview with People, Barrett talked about the “awesome” journey into motherhood. She said:
“It’s a whole new world, honestly. It’s all so true all the cliche sayings -- when you have kids, everything changes in your world; just flips upside down.”
Barrett described her little Baylah as a sweet baby who is now her top priority. The singer added that it felt great having an inspiration to work hard as the newborn is now her reason to strive for success.
BECOMING A FATHER
Foehner shared the same sentiments as his wife as he shared his thoughts about becoming a father. In an Instagram post, the 24-year-old thanked the Lord for blessing him with a wonderful wife and beautiful daughter.
The pair did not take home the award, they won the best collaborative video for the track during the 2020 CMT Music Award.
The talented parents were also thrilled to have spent so much time with their pride and joy amidst the pandemic; hence, the pair got to bask in the happiness of being together with Baylah.
Barrett began her career on the stage of “American Idol,” and although she only came in third place, she became a star in the country music world. At this year’s ACM Awards, she was recognized with a win for New Female Artist of the Year.
Barrett will be performing her number one song, “The Good Ones,” at the ACM’s, her first televised act since giving birth. She shared her excitement about the accolade with People:
“I feel extremely honored. It’s just been a very large year for me in many ways. I just feel blessed beyond comprehension.”

Several country singers were celebrated during the event, including those who took home awards, such as Luke Bryan, who won Entertainer of the Year, and Thomas Rhett, who won Male Artist of the Year.
Engaged couple Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton were also recognized with a nomination for their collaboration, “Nobody But You.” According to Stefani, she was overwhelmed with the nomination for the genre she was not part of.
