Oscars 2021 Honors Kelly Preston, Chadwick Boseman, Sean Connery and More in a Moving Memoriam
Kelly Preston, Chadwick Boseman, Sean Connery, and a host of others were given a Memoriam during the 2021 Oscar awards. See who else has received a Memoriam in the previous years.
There is a saying by Benjamin Disraeli that goes," the legacy of heroes is the memory of a great name and the inheritance of a great example."
This wonderful quote could be said of Kelly Preston, Chadwick Boseman, Sean Connery, and a lot more in the movie industry as they have shaped the future of the industry for the better and made their mark.

This was why it was touching to see them be celebrated with a Memoriam in the 2021 Oscars. The memorial segment of the Award show was introduced by a moving speech from multiple award-winning actress, Angela Basset, who said:
"To all those who left our lives too soon, we cherish the moments that we had the honour of having with you."
Bassett went further to say that the whole community is grateful for these lost souls and that the heroes would remain as they were known and remembered by everyone.
It was a very touching moment as pictures of the various heroes were shown, including Chadwick Boseman, Kelly Preston, and Sean Connery. The world was left in total dismay following the passing of "Black Panther" actor Boseman in August 2020.
They were utterly dissatisfied with the exclusion of Adam Schlesinger, Jessica Walter, Naya Rivera, and Nick Cordero.
The 43-year-old died after battling colon cancer for four years. Preston sadly shared a similar fate, as she also passed away at 57 following her struggle with breast cancer for two years.
Preston's family rep, in an interview, said she was in treatment for some time following her decision to keep her fight private. Despite how glamorous yet touching the Memoriam was, some fans took to Twitter to voice their displeasure.
The fans complained of the fast beat of the background song used during the Memorial to omit certain important names on the screen.
They were utterly dissatisfied with the exclusion of Adam Schlesinger, Jessica Walter, Naya Rivera, and Nick Cordero, whose achievements can not be overemphasized.
The Academy Award of Merit, popularly known as Oscar, is given for artistic and technical merit in the film industry, and the aforementioned superstars were either nominees or winners.
They are not the first to receive Memoriams during Oscar award nights, as Kobe Bryant was given one in the 2020 Annual Academy Awards.
