Story of the day: Man Punished His Daughter for Wasting a Roll of Gold Wrapping Paper

A man became angry with his young daughter after she wasted a roll of gold wrapping paper. He later regretted his anger.

A father was confused because he could not find a roll of gold wrapping paper he had bought to wrap the family's Christmas presents. He searched everywhere until he found his daughter cutting up the precious paper.

Pieces of paper lay across her bedroom floor, sparkling around her as she giggled and hid something behind her back. Her father shouted, "how could you use all the paper? You have just made a big mess and wasted it all."

However, that was not the case. The young girl had used the wrapping paper for a special gift she had created for her father. She wanted to show him how much she loved him.

The next morning, the father found the gold box under the Christmas tree. He saw it was addressed to him and felt regretful that he had overreacted about his daughter using the wrapping paper.

He opened the box, and to his surprise, he found it empty. He got annoyed because now she really had wasted the beautiful paper. He asked her, "why would you wrap up an empty box? Gifts are supposed to have something in them."

The little girl got tearful, and she explained to her father, "Daddy, it is not empty. I blew kisses in the box so you could always know I love you and have my kisses wherever you go."

The father's heart broke. He felt so bad and guilty for getting angry with his daughter when she was trying to show him her love. He immediately apologized, hugged her, and promised he would keep the gold box forever.

A few years later, the young girl passed away from a mysterious illness. Her father was devastated. However, he kept his special god box, and whenever he missed her, he would pull out an imaginary kiss and feel the love his child had for him.

In a sense, everyone has a golden box filled with unconditional love from friends, family, and the people we chose to hold close. Sometimes we have to remember to appreciate and notice it.

It is important to remember that people love in their own ways and not in ways we can always understand. The father had to wait to find out his daughter had created a special gift for him to show him how much she loved him.
