Ashton Kutcher's Twin Brother Michael Has Cerebral Palsy – Inside His Health Battle

American actor and model Ashton Kutcher revealed on national television more than a decade ago that his twin brother Michael Kutcher has cerebral palsy.

Actor Ashton Kutcher’s twin sibling Michael Kutcher has cerebral palsy. When Ashton disclosed his health condition more than 17 years ago, Michael was not too happy about it.

According to Today, Michael spent most of his life trying to hide the disorder that impacts his speech, vision, hearing, and mobility in his right hand.

“I was very angry. Very angry. I remember speaking to him about it. I didn’t want to be the face of CP. I never talk about it,” the 43-year-old told Today Parents recently.

However, things have changed, and Michael is no longer angry with Ashton. Instead, he grateful than anything else. The interview changed the trajectory of his life.

Michael shared Ashton did him a great favor because he has allowed him to be himself. A woman invited him from Iowa to speak about his life with cerebral palsy at a gala.

Although he was hesitant initially, he realized that he needed to let go of the shame and inspire others. Michael said he was finally ready to tell his story and knew because of Ashton; he would have "a big reach."

Michael has dedicated his life to helping others. His medical triumphs and perspective on cerebral palsy have led him to work directly with The Cerebral Palsy Foundation and Donate Life as an advocate and public speaker.

He has also worked to raise awareness for local and national fund-raising initiatives. Michael teaches people how to turn their obstacles into opportunities and to embrace their disabilities.

He is among other public figures who live with cerebral palsy, and these include comedienne and actress Geri Jewell. The motivational speaker received national recognition for being the first person with CP to be cast in a prime-time television series.

Athlete and advocate Bonner Paddock was diagnosed with CP when he was 11 years old. He became the first individual with the condition to reach the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro unassisted.

While Michael and his brother Ashton have experienced hostility because of his health battle, they have remained close even into adulthood. Michael revealed that he considers Ashton as his best friend.

Other Hollywood stars whom you may not know have twins include actress Scarlet Johansson and Hunter Johansson. Scarlet is older than her twin by three minutes.

“Terminator” star Linda Hamilton has an identical twin Leslie Hamilton Gearren. Linda needed a body double for the film and turned to her sister. Leslie is a nurse and is not an actor, but she appeared in three scenes in the movie's sequel as her sibling's double.
