American actress Jamie Lynn Spears is a mother to two beautiful girls and became a parent at sixteen. She opened up about her pregnancy announcement at such a young age.

Country singer Jaime Lynn Spears has two daughters Maddie, 13, and Ivey, three, who are the spitting image of their mom. In 2020, Spears recalled attempting to hide away for a while after announcing her pregnancy at 16 years old.

The now 30-year-old got candid about facing media scrutiny after announcing she was pregnant with her first child when she was only a teenager.

TEENAGE PREGNANCY

The “Zoey 101” star told Nylon that she tried to escape the spotlight after discovering she was expecting her first child. The actress was only a teenager, and she faced a lot of backlash about becoming a mom at that age.

Spears' first daughter is Maddie, whom she shares with ex-boyfriend Casey Aldridge. "You have your first love, or what you call love, in high school. You think it’s forever, and then oh my gosh, I’m pregnant," she told the outlet at the time.

The "Sweet Magnolias" alum shared that she was terrified to break the news to her parents and family. "These are the people I love that I have to tell, and also, I’m pregnant. There’s a human being growing inside of me, and I’m so young, I’m almost a baby myself.”

When she eventually shared broke the news, "I did hideaway for a bit during that time, and I didn't have a phone," she explained. Spears added that she moved away from Los Angeles to get away from the paparazzi, and she eventually decided to settle in Mississippi.

The child star said she tried to avoid the limelight to give her daughter “some sense of normalcy.” She then got herself a small house where she stayed and raised her baby.

Despite moving all the way to Mississippi, the paparazzi somehow managed to track her down and took pictures of the actress throughout her pregnancy.

YOUNG MADDIE

Spears’s mother told Nylon that she “grasped motherhood immediately and fully,” adding that she “focused on only trying to make the best decisions for her baby and herself, and in that order.”

Today, Spears' little girl is a teenager, and like her mom's entire family, who are famous, Maddie now has her own fan following on social media.

The Nickelodeon star usually shares photos and videos of her daughter, and fans have noticed how much she resembles her parents.

THE ACCIDENT

More than four years ago, Maddie was involved in a devastating accident when the ATV Maddie was driving flipped into a pond, trapping the then eight-year-old under the water.

Spears and her now-husband Jamie Watson instantly dived into the water but could not pull her out. Fortunately, the local ambulance service was able to rescue her and take her to the hospital.

Maddie ultimately made a full recovery, and since then, her mother has rarely talked about the traumatic incident for the family.

On the other hand, Maddie's dad has had trouble with the law on numerous occasions as he was charged with five counts of burglary of a storage house and one count of burglary of a dwelling in February 2020.

Aldridge, 30, was apprehended on December 30, 2019, after being linked to burglaries of several camps near Gloster, Mississippi. He was previously arrested for drug possession in February 2019.

He and Spears started dating in 2005 and got engaged in March 2008. Spears later gave birth to their first child in June that year, and the pair ended their engagement in March 2009. However, they briefly reunited in 2010.

WELCOMING IVEY

After her relationship with Maddie’s dad, Spears moved on and married Watson in 2014. They both welcomed daughter Ivey in April 2018.

Little Ivey was born in Covington, Louisiana, with her mom telling People at the time, "We are beyond excited to welcome this beautiful baby girl to our family!"

IVEY’S BIRTHDAY

In April this year, Spears and Watson celebrated their youngest daughter’s third birthday with a princess-themed tea party that Watson's parents hosted.

Spears shared a series of photos to Instagram that featured the family dressed up in princess dresses while enjoying tea. Also in attendance were Maddie and her grandmother Lynne, 65.

Spears decided to put her child acting on the back burner when she started a family with Watson. The Louisiana native currently runs a company that sells electronics to corporations.

In a TLC special "Jamie Lynn Spears: When The Lights Go Out" that aired in 2016, Watson described himself as a "normal guy with a normal job." He even admitted he did not know who Spears was when they met.
