Hero Father Runs into Burning House to Save Twin Daughters, Now Needs Help
With a fire blazing and two babies' lives in danger, a loving dad risked his life to save his girls. The deadly smoke and flames didn't provide hope for the father or his tiny children.
Ray Lucas ran into a flaming house to save his twin daughters. Now, the father of two 18-month-old girls, Milan and Malaysia, has set up a GoFundMe page to deal with the tragic aftermath.
Knowing that his babies were stuck in the burning home, Lucas was devastated. He realized that there could be a difference between life and death every single second they remained inside.

The father quickly made his way into the house, determined to save his daughters from the engulfing fire. Expressing his thought process at the moment, the loving dad said:
"I just knew I had to get my babies out... That's what went through my mind."
Lucas expanded on his experience, revealing that the smoke was completely blinding. He could only locate his girls due to the memory he had of the route he usually takes in the house.

The incident occurred unexpectedly when the father and his girlfriend Shi’Ann Brown, the girls' mother, left the house for no more than fifteen minutes. When they got back, the house was alight.
Their house is completely ruined and they are unable to live there anymore.
Luckily, Lucas managed to get his two girls out of the house, where they were immediately rushed to a medical facility. Although they were in intensive care, the two survived the harrowing blaze.

Lucas also survived what was later found to be an electrical fire but was blind for three days. According to the father of two, medical professionals claimed that they were stunned by his eyes' recovery, expressing:
"They said it was a miracle I could see."
He also suffered extreme burns on many parts of his body but was most severely scorched on his arms. Lucas expressed he is grateful that everyone is alive, including his niece and mother, who both stay with him.
Although they are all still alive, their house is completely ruined, and they are unable to live there anymore. As a result, a GoFundMe account has been set up, which partially reads:
"Please help us to bless this young man, the babies, and their mother Shi’Ann so that they may secure a new home."
It stated that the money would also go towards furniture, medical bills, clothing, and much more. The goal currently stands at $40,000, of which donations have surpassed that amount by nearly $60,000.
The love between families such as Lucas's never fails to astound. Another individual saved her grandson's life by giving him a slice of her liver.
55-year-old Sengar Haydon did so after the 6-year-old was diagnosed with a rare genetic condition that destroys the liver. Medical professionals informed his parents that finding a donor could take up to nearly 2 years.
The surgery took three hours as doctors sliced open Haydon to retrieve the liver, and luckily it was a success. Lucas and Haydon are examples of the courage one can tap into when love is their core motivation.
