A video of a nursing Orangutan who figured out exactly what to do with a pair of sunglasses has captured the hearts of TikTok users.

The clip was shared by TikToker Lola Tetsu, who claimed the animal picked up the sunshades and tried them on after she accidentally dropped them into the ape's enclosure.

Tetsu, who was supposedly visiting the zoo in Indonesia when the drama unfolded, ended up losing her cherished sunglasses, but the show that unfolded before her was certainly worth it. She wrote:

"So I'm down a pair of sunglasses, but up a very good story."

The clip showed the primate carrying a baby orangutan as it walked stealthily towards a pair of sunglasses lying on the manicured greens.

As the animal picked up the glasses, Tetsu cringed in the background, as her voice could be heard urging the primate not to eat it.

Luckily, the Orangutan had other plans in mind, carefully laying down its baby before expanding the sunshade to taste and trying it on expertly. The primate's action triggered an excited gasp from Tetsu.

TikTok users wowed at the animal's intelligence, expressing grievances that such a creature was confined in a zoo.

Subsequent parts of the video showed the Orangutan modeling the fashion object at different locations in the zoo. At some point, the animal got creative and tried it on backward but soon thought better of it.

The video got more exciting as the primate's baby looked curious while making futile attempts to grab the foreign object. But the larger Orangutan shoved the baby's hand away repeatedly.

After seemingly having its fill, the parent animal tossed the glasses back at its presumed owner in exchange for some leaves. Given the disappointed expression that followed, it appeared the animal was unsatisfied with the reward.

Over 163,000 TikTokers have reacted to the astonishing video of the smart Orangutan, dishing out mostly laughable comments. One user swore that orangutans could talk but chose to remain mum to evade taxes.

Over four thousand people agreed with that assertion, concluding the animals were indeed as smart as humans and deserved not to be in cages.

One implied the primate checked for the brand name before trying them on, while another pointed out that the animal model deserved a spot on US Magazine's "Who wore it best" list.

Other users dwelled on the unfair exchange and the monkey's hilarious expression afterward. One wrote:

"When you return the sunglasses and all they give you is leaves. This is the worst trade deal in the history of trade deals. Maybe ever."

More TikTok users wowed at the animal's intelligence, expressing grievances that such a creature was confined in a zoo. Some used the platform to advocate for the protection of animals.

This is hardly the first zoo experience that has gotten the internet in a twist. Several Zoos have popular accounts on social media platforms, where they showcase videos of animals doing extraordinary things.

Some of these videos have gone viral, shooting the animal to internet stardom. Several zookeepers go as far as creating social media accounts of such animals for fans to follow up on their extraordinary feats.

Some of the social media-famous animals include Madison Grass, YikesJaz, Shadow's Reptiles, and Greg, the frog.
