Andy Cohen spoke out about dating habits after becoming a father of son Benjamin, 2. The TV host welcomed his bundle of joy back in 2019 through a surrogate.

As a proud new dad, Cohen shared the happy news on his Instagram with a picture of the newborn. “WOW! This is my son, Benjamin Allen Cohen. He is 9 lbs 2 ounces!! 20 inches!! He captioned his post at the time.

The 53-year-old revealed he named his baby boy after his grandfather Ben Allen while expressing that he is in love with his infant son. “And speechless. And eternally grateful to an incredible surrogate. And I’m a dad. Wow,” he added.

Cohen was instantly flooded with congratulatory messages from fans and friends, including from the Today family. Anchor Hoda Kotb shared her warm wishes in two Instagram posts, including her quote of the day, which she dedicated to the radio talk show host.

“For all the things my hands have held the best by far is you,” the quote stated. Cohen announced he was expecting a child following the December 20 episode of his Bravo show.

Bravo revealed the gender of the baby shortly after while hosting a New Year's Eve special on CNN. "It's a boy, and I got to tell you something; I cannot wait to meet this boy," said Cohen.

As of late, the producer shared an update and said he is thinking about having another baby. “You know, I’m working on it,” he explained.

Cohen noted that he realized that it takes a while longer to make a baby, adding, "I'm definitely open to it, and I would love to see it happen soon."

As for his love life, the "Watch What Happens Live!" star is currently single. He admitted that he has not found the right stepdad for Benjamin yet.

In a virtual interview with Entertainment Tonight, Cohen was asked how has being a father affected his love life, more particularly the people he brings around his child; he replied:

“I’m dating less inappropriate people than I was before. I certainly want to date people closer to my age than his age.”

However, the process has been somewhat challenging for him as he admitted that it is difficult to find someone who would be good for him and his son.

"I think it's become harder in a way. There's just this subtext that's obvious without me saying it that's there, that was never there. And so, to me, it's a high bar. I don't know. It's challenging, is the answer,” he said.

Cohen told People recently that "now there's an endgame" when it comes to his dating life - finding a better candidate for him has changed his entire perception of finding a significant other.

He explained what exactly he is looking for in a relationship now that the stakes are higher. “I like independent people who have their own things going on with their own lives, who are very strong in their belief systems. That’s very attractive to me,” he said.

Even though the Missouri native is struggling to find the right person now, he has had a healthy dating life over the years, although he has kept some of it relatively private.

However, a few rumored relationships made the rounds in the past. For instance, in 2013, many believed Cohen was dating famed hockey player Sean Avery, but he dismissed the speculations and told TMZ, “A gay guy and a straight guy should be able to be friends.”

He was then linked to Lance Bass. During an episode of "Watch What Happens Live!," Cohen revealed Bass is the most famous person he has ever slept with. However, the pair were never in a romantic relationship.

Then in 2016, Radar Online reported that Cohen’s boyfriend was Harvard Ph.D. student Clifton Dassuncao, a man who is 19 years younger than him.

The “Ex-Rated” host never publicly spoke about his involvement with Dassuncao, but they did seem to be dating at the time. Nonetheless, Cohen's former boyfriend is an all-around entertainer, John Hill.

Hill is most well-known for appearing in Broadway musicals such as “Hairspray” and “The Boy from Oz.” He is also a TV producer in his own right. Cohen and Hill are still on good terms to date.
