Daily Joke: Sailor Promises to Save Woman’s Life but Deceives Her

A young woman from New York was in a terrible spell of depression. She believed that nothing was going right for her and that no one cared about her, so she decided to end her life.

One evening, she was walking across the Brooklyn Bridge and thought she would jump over as a quick and easy way to end her life. However, as she was readying herself to jump, a young and very handsome man stopped her.

"You have so much to live for!" said the young man. "Don't do it! I bet you have many wonderful people who truly love you and would be devastated if you died!"
The young woman turned away to look at the young man as he continued, "Look, maybe you just need a new lease on life! I am a sailor, and our boat is headed for Spain tomorrow...

"... Why don't you join me? I will stow you away on the ship. I will take care of you, bring you food, and then when we get to Spain we can have an amazing time on the beaches and exploring the country!"

With nothing to lose, combined with the fact that she had always wanted to go to Spain, the young woman agreed and accepted his offer. Later that night he brought her aboard and hid her in a small but comfortable compartment in the hold.
Each night he would bring her supper and food for the next day. The two would then make love until dawn. The woman found herself relaxing, and was excited to explore Spain.

However, after a week on board the boat, the captain discovered the woman during one of his routine inspections. He asked her, "Hey what are you doing here?"

"Well, I have an arrangement with one of the sailors," the young woman responded, "He brings me food each night, and I get a trip to Spain."
"Oh, I see," replied the captain as he scratched his head in confusion.
The woman's conscience got the best of her and she quickly added, "Okay and he's screwing me!"
"Oh my, he certainly is," the captain said as he started to chuckle, "This is the Staten Island Ferry!"
