SINGER RIHANNA
Among the successful is none other than pop superstar Rihanna. She previously collaborated with Puma back in 2014, which she followed with the beauty-industry changing launch of Fenty Beauty in 2017.
However, she truly set the bar high when she launched her first size-inclusive lingerie collection, Savage X Fenty, at New York Fashion Week in 2018. The inclusivity created a buzz.
Last year, the New York Times reported that the "Diamond" singer had become the first black female designer at LVMH, the parent company of luxury design houses, Givenchy, Dior, and Fendi.
Since then, her Fenty label has amassed enormous success. She even launched the contemporary line's second collection in 2019. Her beauty brand also made waves with a successful lingerie show to date, with people worldwide streaming it on Amazon Prime.
JESSICA SIMPSON
Another star making waves is country singer Jessica Simpson. She is now a powerhouse in fashion after launching her first shoe line in 2006, which grew to be one of the biggest in the business.
The collection has expanded from footwear to clothing, accessories, handbags, sunglasses, and jewelry. In 2010 alone, Simpson's line earned a massive $750 million in retail sales.
In 2015, the brand reportedly brought in $1 billion in revenue from retailers like Nordstrom and Macy's, making her the first-ever celebrity to break this figure.
MARY-KATE & ASHELY OLSEN
Also in the billion figure bracket is Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, who established their brand Elizabeth and James in 2007. Their line is named after their younger siblings.
The contemporary line features dresses, tops, sweaters, and pants. Their minimalist brand, The Row, features classic silhouettes and luxe materials.
It has earned the sisters three CFDA awards in 2012, 2015, and 2018. In total, they have three successful lines, including Olsenboye, a kid’s fashion line. Their empire is now worth a whopping $1 billion.
VICTORIA BECKHAM
Meanwhile, Victoria Beckham launched her namesake fashion brand in September 2008 and has been deemed a highly acclaimed designer. Since then, she has turned out on runways, with her luxury collections being praised by editors for their day-to-night wearability.
She usually wears clothes from her brand and slowly became a fixture on the New York Fashion Week calendar. In 2011, she launched her diffusion line Victoria by Victoria Beckham and was named Designer of The Year.
The former Spice Girls member has also been awarded an OBE for her services to fashion. Beckham’s clothing line made an impressive $95 million in sales back in 2011.
