Us Weekly: Pregnant Kylie Jenner Skipped 2021 Met Gala Because She Thought She Would Be Too Overwhelmed

Kylie Jenner was one of the stars who didn’t make it to the 2021 Met Gala, and it all has to do with her being pregnant for the second time. The star chose her health and wellbeing over the event.

Kylie Jenner, 24, missed Monday’s Met Gala, and her absence was quite noticeable as her boyfriend and baby’s father, Travis Scott, pitched alone. Scott is the father of the star’s first child, Stormi Webster, 3 as well as her unborn child.

An Us Weekly source has since explained why Jenner chose to skip the annual fashion event this year. The insider claimed the businesswoman had intended on going to the Met Gala but changed her mind at the last minute.

Not long ago, Jenner attended some New York Fashion Week events. However, she allegedly decided the Met Gala would be too much stress on her pregnant body. The publication’s source further explained the reality star’s reasoning, stating:

“[Kylie Jenner felt it would be] too overwhelming to attend the Met Gala.”

The Kylie Swim founder allegedly felt she “needed a break” and wanted to focus on her second pregnancy. However, the insider said Jenner would have loved to attend with her mother and sisters.

Hours before other celebrities started walking the carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Jenner spoke about her absence on her Instagram Story. She said she was sad she wouldn’t make it but looked forward to the looks.

Her announcement about her absence at the gala came days after she confirmed her current pregnancy. The makeup mogul debuted her baby bump and maternity style during New York Fashion Week.

Apparently, Jenner had intended on confirming her second pregnancy at the gala, but things failed to work out the way she’d planned. Besides fashion week, the businesswoman also showed off her bump during various outings.

The Kylie Cosmetics founder was seen sporting her growing belly last Friday while out for dinner at Nobu. The baby bump was quite visible as she wore gray high-waisted pants and a matching crop top sweatshirt.

Earlier that day, she was also spotted leaving a New York City restaurant with Webster. The star wore a look that was animal-inspired with a fuzzy tan bucket hat, a brown leather coat, and brown-and-white cow-print boots.

At fashion week’s Revolve event the previous day, Jenner rocked an orange coat and matching Off-White pumps. She also had on a T-shirt with fabric tied around her waist and black Porterhouse jeans.

She accessorized her look with a Ruby Stella cross necklace and carried a Louis Vuitton handbag. That same night, she went out in a black-lace LaQuan Smith catsuit and skirt that had tongues wagging.
