Katie Holmes attended the June 6 premiere in New York City wearing a flowing champagne-colored satin gown as she celebrated the debut of the romantic dramedy she wrote, directed, and stars in. Standing beside her was a very familiar face — someone she first met nearly 30 years ago and once dated during one of television's most beloved teen dramas.

Their reunion has captivated fans for months, but after seeing them together at the premiere, many people suddenly had a lot more to say.

A Reunion Fans Have Been Waiting Decades to See

The premiere marked the latest chapter in Holmes' long-awaited onscreen reunion with her former co-star. In a recent interview with People, Holmes acknowledged just how much time had passed since they last worked together.

"We hadn't worked together in 25 years, and we've changed a lot," she said.

The actress admitted she was surprised by the intense public fascination surrounding their reunion, explaining that neither of them fully realized the lasting impact their earlier work had on audiences.

Holmes shared similar thoughts in a Variety interview, where she revealed that she specifically wanted "Happy Hours" to stand apart from their past success.

"We also wanted to give ourselves the space to show different sides of ourselves and to not portray these people we're known for," she explained. Despite the years apart, Holmes said they quickly slipped back into a familiar rhythm while filming. "We've always done well working off one another." That connection appears to have extended well beyond the movie set.

While many praised the look, others began speculating whether the dress concealed a baby bump. One commenter asked, "Is she pregnant? Her belly looks a bit like a baby bump, and her belly button reminds me of what you often see during pregnancy."

Another person simply wrote, "Looks pregnant." A third fan shared, "I genuinely think she's trying to hide pregnancy. She looks amazing regardless." Holmes has not publicly addressed the speculation.

Why the Reunion Means So Much to Fans

Part of the fascination surrounding the pair stems from the history they share. The actors famously dated during the early years of "Dawson's Creek" before remaining friends long after the series ended. In "Happy Hours," they once again play former sweethearts whose lives reconnect years later.

The parallels have not gone unnoticed among longtime fans. Yet Holmes has emphasized that the project is very much its own story. The film follows Liz, a recently divorced photographer, and Andrew, a travel writer who broke her heart years earlier, before unexpectedly re-entering her life.

Holmes has even suggested that "Happy Hours" could become the first installment in a larger trilogy exploring love at different stages of adulthood.

Why Everyone Is Talking About These Photos

For now, however, much of the conversation remains focused on the premiere itself. Whether fans were analyzing every glance shared between the former couple or speculating about Katie Holmes' appearance, the premiere produced exactly the kind of buzz that few red-carpet events manage to generate.

And judging by the flood of online reactions, many people believe the most interesting part of the evening was not found in any interview — but in the photos themselves.
