Police Handcuff Man for Roaming Beach Ahead of a Storm and Dressed as Michael Myers
This month a man decided to dress up as Michael Myers and roam a beach in Galveston, Texas, as a big storm was about to break. The eerie footage has garnered a reaction from many viewers.
In the lead-up to Halloween, a lawyer named Mark Metzger wanted to play a prank. He headed out wearing a black suit and a scary mask as he strolled along the Galveston beach.
To add to the horror, he was carrying a knife. The weapon was later identified as a fake rubber knife. Regardless, his actions still disturbed many people.

OUT OF A NIGHTMARE
Metzger chose the wrong day for a prank. He was out and about shortly before Hurricane Nicholas made landfall in Texas. The footage of him in the middle of the brewing storm was straight out of a nightmare.
Galveston police were called to the scene after they received reports of the bizarre sighting. The officers acted swiftly and detained the lawyer while he was walking on the beach.
CITED FOR DISORDERLY CONDUCT
That was when they realized it was a prank. While Metzger was cited for disorderly conduct, he was released shortly after the incident. A resident of the island shared his opinions on the prank.
Adam Garrison stated that the stunt was "stupid" and "foolish." He also suggested that Metzger was only doing it for attention. Nonetheless, the resident expressed that it made him laugh.
MOTIVATIONS BEHIND THE PRANK
Metzger, on the other hand, had his own motivations for the prank. He shared that he was only trying to turn a "gloomy doom" day into something positive.
He responded to those who were less than impressed by his behavior. He said: "I just don't think they appreciate it that much. I guess [there are] some people out there that don't have a sense of humor or, you know, can't please them all."
NOT HIS FIRST PRANK
Metzger indicated that he was no stranger to pranks but revealed that this was the first time law officers reprimanded him. According to the lawyer, his experience with the officers was "like a scene out of Scooby-Doo."
He explained:
"After they handcuffed me and pulled the mask off, like, 'I would have gotten away with it if wasn't for those meddling Karens, you know?'"
THE ONLINE REACTION
There were a few people who were intrigued by his costume. These inquisitive citizens stopped Metzger for a few photos. When asked if he regrets his behavior, he stated: "If I had to do it all over again, I absolutely would."
Netizens also had a lot to say about the incident. One user wrote: This is not funny ... Keep it at the haunted house. And please don't carry around a knife like that outside." Another commenter quickly responded: "It’s a fake knife. Chill."
