Woman Shares Emotional Warning to People after Her 'Scary Experience' with a Taxi Driver

A woman was in tears after finding herself in a highly disconcerting situation. Recounting the incident on TikTok, she found herself in a riot of comments fighting over whether she was overreacting to what she found to be a terrifying experience.

Daisy—or @babyblossomxox on TikTok—shared a clip trying to warn other people about potential dangers after she had a "scary experience" with a cab driver. With her voice shaking and attempting to talk while sobbing, the TikToker explained that this was not the first time she found herself in this type of fearful situation.

Daisy explained that, while in a taxi on her way home, she was initially relaxed as she and the driver engaged in small talk. The cab driver asked if she lived where he was taking her, and the TikTok user said yes, only realizing later that her truthful answer may not have been the wisest decision.

@babyblossomxox became anxiously aware that he now knew where she lived, saying that sometimes you forget these apparent small-talk conversations with strangers could lead to potentially unsafe consequences. While shaking, the TikToker expressed:

"But apparently we have to be careful with anyone that asks any questions."

Her fear began to increase, Daisy claimed, when the driver said that he was renting a house in the area and he could take her to see it at that moment. The TikTok user politely declined, asserting that her companions were waiting for her.

The taxi man then began insistently trying to get her cellphone number, @babyblossomxox stated. She managed to talk herself out of it, Daisy remembered but was still distressed.

She also came to the sudden realization that he was going in the opposite direction of her location.

When he finally stopped by her postcode, she quickly removed herself from the car and asked a lady close by to pretend to be engaging in conversation until he left. After a while, he did, the TikToker explained, but he had spent a significant time remaining behind her.

The comment section was full of what appeared to be primarily men expressing that they did not understand what was so frightening about her experience. Some even implied it was partially her doing, with one fellow netizen who seemed to be a woman, stating:

"Yes I feel sorry for what happened to you, but no hate you entertained the guy sis 😂."

Netizens fired back, asking how they couldn't grasp the possible danger of these situations. The taxi service itself, Bolt, commented, apologizing and claiming to have taken action. In a follow-up clip, Daisy stated that the cabman also gave her uncomfortable compliments about her appearance.

A CLEVER LIE

A discomforting compliment is also what made Kelly Barnhill, a writer for children, sit on the edge of her seat. While on the drive, using the Lyft service, the driver told Barnhill that her eyes were pretty, proceeding to take a route that he claimed was better while switching the driving app off.

Later during the trip, she came to the realization that he was going in the opposite direction of her location. Barnhill realized she couldn't connect to any online service and that her cellphone was out of range. The author then hastily came up with a story to get herself out of the situation.

The writer told the driver that she had a highly demanding boss who was most likely tracking her, wanting to know her whereabouts 24/7 and that he would be wondering where she was due to the hold-up.

The taxi driver then decided to turn around, claiming that the traffic would most likely have calmed down via the freeway at this point. It appears that the age-old advice stands true: don't talk to strangers.
